The doorman was rude, so that was not great. The casino is very clean, spacious, and bright. Compared to other casinos we saw, it was really nice. This IS a historic hotel, and the lobby and downstairs are very nicely refurbished, down to the ceilings in the lobby. The desk staff was nice. However, when we got in our room...

friendly check in staff! Rooms are decent for an older motel! Always a nice place to stay while in deadwood! The thing we didn't enjoy the most was the loud staff at 8am right outside of our door and their loud walkie talkies!

We came on a Saturday night and it was a hopping place! Table games were lively and the dealers were all very nice. It was my first time playing blackjack and they all helped me understand some strategy. Hubs played the slots and had a good time doing so. Cocktail waitress was kind and kept the beer plentiful!! We're hoping...

The initial impression of this place is really a good one, especially if you are a fan of older buildings with character. The lobby has sparkling chandeliers, tons of warm woodwork throughout the lobby, an enormous fireplace, large, expansive stairway, marble pillars, great architectural features everywhere you look! And then we checked into our room. The bathroom was sufficient, but...

A bargain especially if you love old charm! New Television. Clean. Friendly staff. A short walk to the casino action! I'm sure I will stay there at the Silverado/Franklin again. Breakfast burrito was fantastic.

The lobby is beautiful, the gentleman that hold the door are so sweet, and the restaurant (Legends) is outstanding. The rooms, however, are sooooo outdated, there's obviously issues with the maintenance of the rooms. Our bathroom ceiling was, literally, peeling off. It was quite noisy and super musty smelling (and, cherry on top, you can't open the window). For $30,...

The good: The gentlemen that waited at the front door to great customers were some of the nicest people we met the entire weekend. The main lobby area was remodeled +10 years ago, however was the nicest portion of the hotel. The bad: When my husband and I checked in, I could tell walking down the hall that this wasn't...

We had an online reservation for a room in the historic hotel, however when we checked in they had us booked in the motor lodge across the street. All the regular rooms in the historic part were occupied. A suite was available so they give us that for the regular rate. We really enjoyed our stay and if we are...

First things first - this is a historic hotel. I love historic hotels. But these hotels have their very own quirks and issues. If you don't like historic hotels you won't like the Franklin. The issues I had on this particular trip had nothing to do with the hotel. It was an employee. One in particular. During my stay it...

I have hesitated on reviewing this hotel... but if it helps someone else not to go through it....Here we go... The main floor and Legends Steakhouse are excellent...as is the gaming complex across the street. Unfortunately, that is where it ends...Hotel is old, beat up, modestly maintained, decorated with a hodgepodge of furniture from the last 100 years. Although the...
