We went to South Dakota for the Crazy Horse Volksmarch held the first weekend of June. Since we had stayed at the Pine Rest cabins before, we booked our stay with them again. Again, we were not disappointed.

Not knowing the size of the truck & trailer, I'd advise contacting the owners. They are exceptionally customer oriented and go out of their way to help their guests in any way possible. You can also do a search for Pine Rest via google maps - click on the Orange marker for the cabins, then click on the street view. It's just a gravel drive that you park on, but I'd be willing to bet they have a place that will accommodate your trailer.
I really can't speak well enough about the owners. When I checked out, they spent a good fifteen minutes with me over my question about my /next/ destination. Class act there.

Depending on how much time you want to spend in the Badlands and what you plan to do there, Pine Rest could be too far away. The loop road around Badlands can be an all day driving affair if you stop for a lot of pictures and do any of the shorter nature trails and hikes- so tacking on a 90minute+ drive to get there and back was a deal breaker for me.
But for all of the attractions around Hill City, of which there are many- (Jewel Cave, Wind Cave, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park** - especially this guy, don't let the state park title trick you, it's beautiful!) Pine Rest is PERFECT. They're just south of town, so a little out of the way - but the town is charming and quaint. Plenty of places to eat within a 5 minute drive from the cabins. It was a great stay for me and my group of four friends.

"The older cabins are older and smaller. The newer ones are not. Great base camp while exploring the area."
