The Outpost Lodge, I read some mixed reviews before my wife and I stopped in and reserved our cabin. I will say this if your looking for your typical person sitting at the front desk taking reservations, handing out room keys, let us know if you need anything kind of places this isn't for you. I could tell this place...

We were on a fishing trip with friends and I did not need luxury, but clean with a private bath. We were given a small motel type room in an old cabin. All of us found it unacceptable. The small private bathroom appeared clean, but a broken soap dispenser in the shower was a hazard. The overhead fluorescent light in...

We did not actually stay on the property but stopped at the restaurant for a sandwich about 2 PM - after fishing at Cow Creek. It was very clean, great and personable wait staff, and the burgers were GREAT!!! We went back 2 more times and had lunch there. Take time to check out the place. You won't be disappointed.

First off they werent very busy; many open tables. It took almost a half hour just to get drinks, an hour to get our appetizer and an hour and a half to get our food. Then we didnt get all our food. The steak, supposed to be medium, jiggled when you moved the plate, possibly not even considered rare done....

My wife and I went to the Outpost Lodge for diner on our 28th wedding anniversary. The steak and ribs for me and steak and shrimp for my wife. The steaks were perfect. The BBQ pork ribs are fall off the bone delicious. Jason is a great cook and Maria a wonderful waitress. Nothing too fancy about the place, but...

I rate this with a 5/5 but keep in perspective that this is a lodge and not a luxury Marriott/Hyatt etc. I have stayed here for fishing trips several times. Sometimes in smaller groups, and sometimes in VERY LARGE groups. It is a clean facility with decent "cabin" type accommodations (once again, dont come here if you are planning luxury)....

The ribs are fall off the bone goodness. The scenery is tranquil and beautiful the rustic cabin is so outdoorsy that you feel free. I just love this place. Highly recommend this as a restaurant but that is not all it has to offer. There is a full service bar, weekend cabins which are roomy and comfortable. And there is...

Steak smothered in sautéed onions and mushrooms. BBQ ribs. Turtle cheesecake. Those are our favorites. All the best there is in the area. Always enjoy the service. Nothing fancy, but the favorite place for the wife and I to eat. Nice view of Lake Oahe as well!

I stayed 2 nights during the week as part of a large group (100 people). I thought the place was just fine...The food at the restaurant was decent & the cabin I stayed in was good as well. I spent 1 1/2 days fishing on Oahe & the warm shower & soft bed were welcomed. The staff was ok. The...
