The Cosby Campground is one of the nicest and least crowded of the campgrounds in the national park, especially compared to the nearby Greenbrier which is just off hwy 321. It is open seasonally (April 10- Oct. 31) and is far enough away from Gatlinburg that a lot of people don't know about it. It was still closed on our...

This area had plenty of sites to choose from when we arrived midweek. The area has a lot of shade which was much needed during our trip because it was very hot. There is easy access to trails and there is a resort with showers and some supplies a couple of miles from the campground. Make sure to bring cash...

Beautiful, simple campground. Campsites were set up well for a tent and had a great fire pit with a grate to cook on. Bathrooms were very clean. No showers but Crosby creek was nearby and paid showers were available down the road. Several hiking trails start right from the campground.

My wife and I stayed at this campground the last weekend of October and it is officially our favorite camp ground. One of the downsides of the Smoky Mountains for us is all the people. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are cool, but we are just not into the whole tourist crowds thing. With Cosby it was perfect for us, it...

We hiked up to this overlook, and it was worth the hike. The trailhead is reached by the nature trail located off the parking lot just before you get to the campground in the Cosby Park area. Not marked as Sutton Ridge until you get to the low gap trail then you will come onto another trail sign pointing you...

I always enjoy going to the smokey mountains but I usually go to cades cove to camp. this time I chose Cosby Campground because it was close to the trail head for Mt Cammerer. The campground is clean, and quiet. It has clean bathrooms. It has fire pits and plenty of parking areas. The trail head started right in the...

My wife and I spent six nights over Labor Day weekend here and had a great time. I picked this campground because it's known for not being as busy as the other grounds inside the main park. While it did fill up over the weekend by Monday it was almost empty. On the days it was not busy we had...

We made a last minute decision to go camping Labor Day weekend. We picked Cosby for the hiking trails that lead out from the campground. Due to Hurricane Hermine we were unsure of the weather conditions we might face, luckily it was not an issue! We arrived around 9 pm Friday night we had studied the campground map before leaving...

We spent 2 night here after visiting gatlinburg. The surroundings are beautiful and the staff was friendly. We had a great private site in section B. $14 per night...nice bathrooms...but no showers.. We hiked to the falls....beautiful!....but a pretty steep hike..seemed longer than the 2.4 miles posted... Great weather and time!

We just got back from spending a weekend at the Cosby Campground. There is plenty of spots to camp not too close to each other. We were lucky and put off by ourselves away from other campers. The staff seemed friendly, even when our scouts were bug hunting. The restrooms were very clean of the two I used. There were...
