The new owners are kind and friendly. Very good breakfast. Be warned that GPS takes you past the place. We stayed in the Walnut Cabin; our dog was allowed there. The cabin has the worst beds, ever, that we have tried to sleep on. The kitchen has 2 pots, only 1 pan and 7, total, drinking glasses for 4 people. The dining table is on a screened porch, which was unusable in 50 degree weather. You could sit in the den with your meal in your lap. There are no bureaus for clothing, only a large shelf in the bathroom. The location is ideal for Big South Fork, so we hope that the accommodations will improve with time.

We knew we would arrive late to our BB, so we called 8 times to let them know of our late arrival. We left two messages that were not checked or returned. At 9p.m. we arrive to a totally dark inn. No hot beverage or smiling inn keeper to welcome us. We called she came opened a cold room and admitted she was not expecting us. ( we had reservations) We then found out she considered this out of season so therefore no hot breakfast. She made no effort to offer as much as a pop tart or hot cup of coffee. No refund to off set that no hand made breakfast would be served with Christmas decor and warm fire as I had imagined a BB would provide. We did have a bed and a safe place out of cold. It was clean but that was all the amendments we got for our romantic anniversary get away. I was so disappointed. She did tell us where we could buy breakfast ten miles down the road. Advise: to you inn keeper if u are closed then be closed. Change your website since it had no off season information. If you take lodge reservations then open the lodge. People plan and pay for advertised amenities. I would say drive to Crossville. We were sorely disappointed.

There were not many choices in this area. Our room was not clean, nor the bathroom. It is a B&B and we have stayed at many but not the typical. No coffee till late and one morning no coffee or breakfast. It was a holiday, (labor day) but that usually does not make a difference at B&B's but in this area I guess we sort of understand. Just would have liked to know. Loved the Horse farm on the property but the room and breakfast was not what we had hoped fo.

Held a meeting there yesterday and they catered our meal for lunch. It was excellent in every way. The soup choices were outstanding along with the fresh grilled chicken salad and the wrap was to die for.. The ice cream was the highlight. Great facility.

Were driving thru the area to see fall colors and do a bit of trail hiking. This B&B was in a perfect location, right next to Pickett State Park and Big South Fork. Rooms are not fancy, high end, but comfy, clean, country look. Woodsy view from balcony deck. Breakfast was good home-cooked meal. Hosts were great, compassionate people who also operate a horse rescue.

Back to Wildwood instead of The Fork and I am excited! Loved going to this B & B. Our horseback riding group have stayed here over the years with our horses. In fact we would plan our trips...3rd week in May, and 2nd or 3rd week in October! I love the BSF to ride, & sight seeing! Spring has all the wildflowers, and Fall has the beautiful leaves changed. This place has special meaning to me. Lovely Inn in a beautiful mountain setting!!! Nothing like BSF! Wildwood is under new management, but they have made some great changes. Hardwood floors in the rooms, & dinning areas, and a restaurant with menu open daily....with homemade, breads, ice creams, & desserts!! (owners were previous owners of 3 restaurants!) They were very friendly, helpful, and easy to work with!! We will continue to come back yearly if the Lord wills!! Donna/Ky.

This was a three day stay to visit the Pickett-Pogue Dark Sky Park for the Persied meteor shower. As a result the hours staying in the room were weird, since viewing was from 10PM to 4AM two of three days. This review is going to sound critical, but in fact I had a wonderful time because the staff were so friendly I felt like family before I left. Also, it is obvious that these folks are new at being hoteliers, and are learning as they go, and are trying hard. They are also physically renovating the place as they go, which has to be a lot of work, as this is an older facility that apparently was abandoned for some time. Stayed in the lodge rather than the cabins. The room was small but clean, lacked a closet, hair dryer, coffee service and other things you expect at a decent motel. There was only one plastic cup in the bathroom, and no ice bucket. The room had been newly renovated with new flooring, paint/stain, a new TV, etc. The room had doors to the front and also to the large quiet deck on the back side of the building with tables and chairs for relaxing while looking at the deep woods. There was no daily maid service, but they were quick to respond with fresh bedding after a spill, and quickly provided fresh towels, cups, etc. when asked. The bed was very comfortable and the room certainly met all my needs; "rustic" is the word that comes to mind. The food was excellent, and the prices reasonable (though the steak dinner seemed a little expensive proportional to the prices of everything else). As someone else mentioned, the west-facing dining room windows need shades as the afternoon sun was blazingly bright and hot. Breakfast was served buffet style, and included freshly scrambled real eggs, crisp bacon or home made sausage patties, and either pancakes or biscuits and sausage gravy, depending on the day. OJ, milk and ice water were available, along with regular or decaf coffee. Didn't go away hungry! And Dan's home made ice cream is a must try. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and will stay there next year when the Persieds come around again.

This was our last stop on the "127 Sale". It was way off 127 but well worth it. It had a charming atmosphere. Our room & private bath were clean & nice & cool when we arrived in the 90 degree muggy heat. There is a common deck out back where we met some other interesting guests. We ate dinner in their restaurant--WOW what a treat that was!!! Great food! They definitely downplay the quality of their restaurant--it could definitely stand alone. Breakfast was truly the highlight! I am not from the South & for the first time in my life I experienced "Chocolate Gravy" on homemade rolls...It was a great stop & I'd stay there again. The staff was also very friendly!

We were lucky enough to find the Wildwood Inn while traveling the "Longest Yard Sale" route. Our room and private bath were clean and nicely done in cabin decor. There was a large deck out back with a beautiful mountain view. The staff were super sweet and helpful. The home cooked breakfast which was included in the price of the room was plentiful and delicious. We will definitely recommend the Wildwood Inn to our friends and family and hope to go back ourselves soon.

As hotels go you would probably rate it with three stars. It was clean and had all the normal things you might expect. Don't expect a jacuzzi tub or spa but that's probably not why you are in Jamestown TN. As others said, if you don't have Verizon you probably won't get cell service but that's the nature of the area not the hotel. The WIFI was working for us when we stayed last weekend and the TV was connected to NETFIX if you need that stuff. I have a feeling if you are here you want to be outside. The pluses that add a star are the very friendly staff, great food, homemade ice cream, very reasonable costs and the great screen porch. We stayed in the Hickory and Maple cabin and the screen porch made for a nice evening gathering place for our large group. And the Owners and staff really went out of the way to help us out. If you are heading for Big South Fork NRA or Pickett SP and don't plan to stay in a tent, this is the place you want.
