We had a large room on the front with an enormous bathroom, which had a bath sitting in the middle. The room was beautiful with lots of old objects, books and furnishings. The food was average, as was breakfast. The staff were friendly, but clearly untrained, as my sherry was served in a water glass, the bottle of wine was... More

Stayed three nites in the hotel recently, after a 2 night stay last year on business, and overall we really enjoyed the stay. Staff are very friendly, and we had lovely evening meals. The breakfasts were also excellent with the locally caught and smoked Kippers a real treat ! The rooms were also acceptable although with a bit of effort... More

We stayed in this hotel as we'd been there years ago. We returned and were so disappointed. Staff are really friendly. However, the room didn't appear very clean. The bedlinen was dirty and looked like it hadn't been changed. The windows are filthy. I feel bad posting this review as the staff as I've already said were lovely. It's a... More

My wife booked a day in the Malin as a surprise following our wedding a few days before. It has all the things to make it amazing but just missing a few touches. We got room 11 which is the bridal suite and lovely but just a few bits like a broken plug in sink, cobweb in bathroom, carpet catching... More

Stayed for three nights at hotel Malin. Very clean hotel with rooms decorated in lovely bright colours in a french style. The food was good and breakfast was exceptional. The staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. Malin itself is a village with relatively little happening there. Not a place to go without transport.

For the traveller Malin Town is on the way to Malin Head the most northerly point in Ireland and scene for the latest Star Wars filming. The Malin Hotet is in the middlle of the village which has won the 'Tidiest Town Competition' on several occasions. We dropped in on our way back from Malin Head cold and hungry and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Going through the door, you're greeted by the creme de la creme of local society. In the air, a distinct scent of haute cuisine and sensual traces of eau de cologne. Ah! C'est la vie in le Malin Hotel. Here we do things "la francaise" - food par excellence, rooms au courant. And a great pint, too! Boutique? We created the word! We're your little pied-de-terre and your "moulin rouge" in the midst of the beauty of Donegal. Boudoirs that'll knock your socks off, wine to blow your mind and scenery that'll make your eyes pop. Unique? You can say that again. ... more   less
