After staying at the 12th Lock hotelfor two nights i would like to remark that all the staff from the owner to the barstaff were fabulous in their service and their courteous manner throughout my stay. The attitude and performance of the staff matched that of any of the best 5 star hotels in which i have stayed all over the...

After being disappointed the first time I tried the recently reopened twelfth lock, I was extremely impressed by the standard of their new restaurant 'Fish'. The prawns in sambuca, as weird as it sounds, are unreal! We then ventured into the bar and the standard of service was excellent , Moscow Mule is a must have . After being let...

Food was cold and bland. Sweet potato fries were a soggy disaster! Supplements for everything. Clearly a lot of prepped food and no fresh cooking. Ridiculous for the cost. Brownes company shouldn't be so greedy. Remember that locals keep businesses running! Lovely staff however.

Really not sure what the 12th Lock is trying to be? I'd been here a few years back and had enjoyed ice cold pints of cider, sitting on the grass overlooking the Dublin's famous Royal Canal. I returned with a guest just before Christmas to a quasi Miami styled restaurant where the Bar lighting changes were akin to that of...

A few months ago I slated the 12th for their breakfast (on their facebook) but said we would go back for family dinner in the pub. Overall I was happy with this experience, fish and chips were very nice and adult portion was a good size. Kids portion was fine for a small child say under ten. Plaice was nice...

I visited this restaurant with friends for a little Christmas shindig. What an ambiance and setting. Beside the canal with a wonderful smoking area. What I have to compliment is the service of a lovely (but cheeky ha ha) young man Sean. Very welcoming and even sat with us for a chat for a short while. 5/5 would definitely recommend.

Home to visit the family for xmas and we always stop by the 12th lock. Was very impressed with the new look, service and quality of food. One of our party stayed overnight and their room was lovely. Highly recommend the restaurant, service was excellent, food fantastic. Generous portions for starters, a little less so on the mains, could have...

We popped in for lunch recently and had a lovely time. We were warmly greeted by the staff and shown to a lovely booth. We had a glass of red each, I went for the Beef and Guinness pie and my husband went for the fish and chips - both of us really enjoyed our meal - the presentation and...

I am not sure what longer term plans the new owners have for the bar restaurant here but given the mixed reviews in recent days/ weeks they appear not to be too concerned about the mixed/ negative reviews being filed here. Their on line menu is not what is available when you get there, the latter being less attractive and...
