A beautiful house with great character. We went there with our 3 dogs and were more welcome than my mothers home!!! We stayed in a ground floor room with an exit onto the mature gardens, perfect for the dogs. The breakfast was perfect and Colm's potatoe cakes are now legendary. At night we had the Lamb Shank for dinner with...

My family and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Zetland Country House Hotel. Above anything else the service of the lovely owner and staff was first class and we were all made to feel most welcome - including our 3 young boys. We were given excellent local insight for our day trips and our boys were...

Unbelievable time in Connemara here. The staff was incredibly accommodating and catered to our ever need. The owner of the hotel takes care of you personally. The views from the main dining room were phenomenal. The owner took us on a fly fishing excursion to gorgeous lakes near the hotel.

The reason you would come to the Zetland is to get away from it all; to be welcomed with a sincerity that only the Irish can give; to eat fresh, delicious food; to breathe in the fresh Irish air and the finest pint of Guiness you will ever drink. Martina, the front of house, is quite simply the nicest, sweetest...

The professionally run hotel is in a beautiful location and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The management and staff go out of their way to make your stay memorable and together with the experience of enjoying a drink in a "local" bar and sampling good food this is a great place to experience Irish hospitality at its best

We were in Connemara for the first time and already the drive to get there was sort of keeping up to expactation: the light, the green, the sheeps, the mountains, the lakes and ... the rain! everything was absolutely keeping up with expactation. When we get at Zetland Country house expectations were even exceeded: the neet country elegance, the big,...

We found it a most welcoming and relaxing hotel. We were greeted with an offer of tea or coffee and a slice of cake. Nothing was to much trouble even to the extent of them offering to set up a dinner table in front of the fire in the drawing room. The food was excellent and included wild trout from...

I've lived in Ireland during the 80's-90's. I've been to a fair number of Irish manors and houses. For this 2 week family trip, I was in the role of explorer, history buff and photographer. I arrived exhausted - after a long, rain-soaked drive, and was greeted like family. We had hot tea and warm bread in front of a...

Forty years ago we had a wonderfully memorable stay at the Zetland. On returning last week we were not sure if this time could be so memorable. The clear answer is yes. We had a very warm welcome from Martina and Colm On arrival. Martina went out of her way to give us the same big spacious room with a wonderful...

This lovely spot was one of our stays on a cycling adventure along part of the West Coast of Ireland. We were greeted by the owner himself, and he was charming and delightful and he went out of his way to ensure you were looked after. My room was very spacious, had a large comfy bed, was clean and everything...
