Found this lovely spot on Trip Advisor and Booking.com and reserved it for our first night of a two week journey through the Emerald Isle. It was an easy drive from Shannon airport, including a stop at the Cliffs of Moher. The hostess was lovely, the room extremely comfortable. There are great restaurants and music options a few Kms down... More

Of the six B&B’s we stayed at during our recent trip to Ireland—all of them excellent—our favorite was An Caladh Gearr. Moira and Michael have done a brilliant job of modernizing and expanding this traditional thatched stone cottage. From the peat fire in the woodstove to the beautifully decorated guestrooms to the excellent breakfast service, you couldn’t find a more... More

We enjoyed our overnight and breakfast at An Caladh Gearr Thatch Cottage B&B and recommend it to anyone planning a trip to the Aran Islands. The cottage is just as charming as it appears in the pictures - gorgeous hydrangeas front and sides, lovely and inviting inside. Our bed was firm and very comfortable, and the bedding and towels were... More

We recently spent a night in this lovely B&B. We had a spotless room with a lovely comfortable bed. The area is a little out of the main town, and very quiet. The room had tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer and shampoo/shower gels etc.Lovely bedlinen and big fluffy towels. The hostess, Moira, was very nice and helpful. We spoke only briefly to... More

We booked this place for the novelty of the thatched roof and the proximity to the ferry to Inish Mor. The hosts were friendly and more than helpful - Mr. even accompanied us to the filling station to help get air in the tires, and Mrs. hung my sink laundry out on the line in the sun! They gave good... More

Chaitheas féin is mo fhear céile oíche sa Chaladh Ghearr le déanaí. Cuireadh fáilte romhainn, bhí an seomra an-chompórdach agus bhí bricfeasta blasta againn an mhaidin dár gcionn. Bhí tine móna ar lasadh sa seomra suite sa sean teach ceann tuí agus bhí sé deas teolaí !! Spent an overnight in an Caladh Gearr recently. The welcome was warm, the... More

This a wonderful stop. The rooms are maintained to perfection as are the common areas. The thick cottage walls block out all sound for a cosy night's sleep. Your hosts are personable and accommodating. Some of the most tastefully furnished accomodations we have ever experienced in a B&B. What a pleasant place to stay! And easy to find.

The cottage is well maintained and the hostess Moira is great. The beds were comfy and breakfast was good. Definitely the Irish experience. The actual cottage is only in the front. Mainly a sitting area with a cozy fireplace and the dining room used for breakfast. The bedrooms are added onto the back and more modern but still in line... More
