We have just visited for a 3 night midweek stay for our first visit to Jersey. We picked windmills due to the good trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. The first impression is stunning on walking in and seeing the view of the bay....More
We took our daughter, partner and granddaughter for a few days and the view also took their breath away. I had pointed out that the bedrooms were fairly basic, very clean but had everything necessary but certainly not a Boutique experience but when you are...More

Eddie, I can answer as far as the Hotel is concerned, you are probably also looking for a cross section of responses from Guests. We are in an elevated position which gives us the most amazing views. Mont Gras D'Eau is a green lane, green lane (means that traffic is controlled to 15mph maximum and right of way to pedestrians) that winds back up from the beach. It takes an average walker between 6 and 8 minutes down the hill and about double that on the way back, however I try and describe it, it is uphill some sections quite gradual some a little steeper.
We are a popular Hotel with many guests, to the vast majority of those the hill is worth the effort but no doubt an inconvenience to some. There is ample public car parking in the bay if a car is an option for you and also a public bus (No 14 route) which brings you back up to the top level near to the Windmills Hotel avoiding the uphill walk altogether.
I hope this has been helpful

There is a bus stop located with a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We always hire a car as it's easier for us to get about together with luggage but you could do it by foot from the bus stop. If you are ok on foot. If walking is difficult then definitely hire a car as there are some inclines on the path to walk up.
