I stayed at the Dunchoille for two nights with two friends and had a delightful stay. I had previously read some of the reviews that mentioned 1970s decor and the fact that the hotel might need a facelift but to me and my two traveling companions none of that mattered because ALL of the staff we encountered were so helpful... The only reason we stayed here was because there was no other option as we booked only a few days before we needed to arrive. The rooms are seriously poor, it really needs a decorate to come away from the 70s. The thing that most annoyed me was the shower curtain, I felt like I wanted to fight it every... More

We arrived early and the staff could not of been more welcoming and friendly. A clean hotel which is a pleasant quiet place to stay. Yes it's requires updating, although this made it quirky in a way and homely. Would rather have that, than a emotionless Modern hotel. Thank you Maggie and the girls for a lovely time

Had the misfortune to stay here. The room was shabby, outdated and needs professional decorating. The price for the quality of room was ridiculously high. It is more like a hostel quality. I wanted a business hotel, but this in no way suits business needs. I was also pressured about filling in a Guernsey housing form. I have no idea... More

Ok the décor is a bit dated but if they paint a feature wall, scatter a few cushions and call themselves a boutique hotel they would charge a lot more. Not luxury but rooms were spotless and had everything you could want. A bit of a walk out of town for evening meals but the ones IN town were twice... More

Cheaper than most on the island but the welcome is top rated. The hotel itself is clean though decor quite dated. Good sized foyer with plenty of leaflets of the island. A friendly welcome by the landlord who showed me to my room. I had a single room which was plenty of room for me. Tea making facilities, phone, free... More

I don't even feel inclined to waste my words on this awful hotel. But seeing as Trip Advisor demands 200 characters, I'll try!! Opening words on arrival "I'm glad you've arrived, I can go home now." Breakfast - well, the bacon wasn't quite cold and my boiled egg was so soft you could see through it. In the bedroom a... More

I stay and work away for most of the year in various hotels across Europe. I spent 10 days in this hotel, and it wasn't too bad. The place is very old and desperately needs modernizing. The breakfast was good and the staff very tentative to your requests and offer to cook you pretty much anything you want which is... More

from the time we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome. we arrived early so our room wasn't quite ready and we were put in a different one straight away. staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and give us information about the island. the weather wasn't quite as nice as we had hoped but we were... Staying at the Dunchoille is like taking a trip back in time, when service and friendliness went hand in hand. OK maybe the room could have done with a coat of paint but the positives of staying here far outweigh this minor fault. Everyone wants to make sure that your stay is happy from free tea and cake in the... More
