We stayed here for one night before we caught our ferry to Spain. After travelling nearly 300 miles in torrential rain, it was so nice to see the clouds part over Dartmoor! Still very Covid aware ( masks on at all times) our receptionist was more than helpful and extremely friendly. The rooms are situated in a type of annex, where you’re given a security code to get into the block. Our room , which looked as if parts of it had recently been refurbished ( shame the furniture hadn’t ) was spacious , and extremely clean. The views from our window were wonderful as well. We also had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, which were very good, although the menu could have done to have been a little less basic. All in all a very pleasant stay, and superb value for money.

. . . the food was good value too and it was a great location for us. Staff in hotels can make or break a stay. The staff at Dartmoor Lodge Hotel absolutely made ours. They were without exception warm and friendly, very welcoming and so willing to go the extra mile. Simply the best!

I stayed for a week as I was doing a cookery course in Ashburton, it was my first time staying away from home (apart from uni) without my parents and I have to say I felt very at home! Wonderful atmosphere, the roast dinner was excellent, and Phillip was incredibly welcoming :) He deserves a promotion!! I had a small full english every morning and it just got better and better. I haven’t got a bad word to say about Dartmoor Lodge. I will definitely be coming again next year :)

Went here for dinner as it was close to the B&B we were staying. Even though there were only people at 3 other tables, the service was extremely slow. Food was quite nice and not overly expensive. After meal we sat waiting for someone to come and see if we wanted anything else or the bill but in the end we just went to the bar area and paid our bill. I don't think anyone would have noticed if we had just walked out.
