Backwell Bristol

For the second time I organised lunch for a crowd of friends from my days of living in Plymouth. This time there were no less than twelve of us, which must have been quite a challenge for the Management! We were seated at a very long table in the pleasant restaurant. As before, both the service and the choice of...

Took some friends to this old thatched inn for lunch. The food was well presented and of a size that enabled you to have a pudding at the end. Friendly staff. Dogs allowed except for the restaurant. Beer of a good quality but would have been nice to see a few more real ales to choose from.

Booked in at the last minute and stayed in the "Garden Room" possibly not the best room on offer but comfortable and clean. Everything you need without being spectacular. We had dinner in the restaurant, locally sourced ingredients, presented well with attentive service. Breakfast was brilliant as well. The real attraction is the building and the setting, a wonderful 13th...

This is a beautiful Inn on the western edge of Dartmoor. It's right on the A386 but set back from the road and you don't hear it when inside. A lovely cosy bar but with extensive bar seating in various rooms, so you stand a good chance of getting a seat. There's also a restaurant which is nicely set out...

This gorgeous place is welcoming from the minute you pull up. We arrived late Friday evening and walked in to the bar area which was full of people but the staff made sure you were attended to almost instantly. The locals were lovely too. We were showed to our room which was absolutely beautiful, and believe the other reviews when...

We stayed 3 great nights at the Bearslake Inn. Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is great if you are walking or cycling and the place is very dog friendly. It is right on the doorstep of Dartmoor National Park and the national cycle/walk route 27 which goes from the north coast to the south coast of Devon. Very...

We love the Bearslake and when on holiday in the area, always have a dinner or lunch there. Excellent meal Friday night, glorious buttery garlic bread. My husband chose the rack of lamb and I had the bell pepper with a creamy garlic mushrooms. Good sized options as well. Dogs welcomed in the bar area. Looking forward to returning later...

We had a fabulous experience at this beautiful converted Devon longhouse inn. The welcome was warm, the room was lovely (especially if you are under 6 foot due to the low beams), and the food in the restaurant was amongst the best pub food we have had. It was excellent, I had the Devon blue cheeses pannacotta as a starter,...

The bar is very busy with locals and had the best cider I tried in Devon. Well worth the visit they...
