I spent a single night at YHA Dartmoor, from what I experienced it was a lovely peaceful Youth Hostel. The facilities were at a lot better than I expected, as for the self-catering the kitchen was very modern and easy to use. A bonus was the cosy and quite lounge, the lounge had a open fire to warm everyone from...

Second visit in two years. Both great. Great value accommodation. A no-fuss place to sleep for a night and meets that goal with simple excellence. Arrived by car, but step out the gate and you're on Dartmoor. I could hike more when I was younger, but there are several short rambles available. I'll be back.

If you were to try and put a pin in the dead centre of Dartmoor you'd hit the YHA at Bellever. And what a location - beautiful views, gorgeous location. The staff were tremendously helpful and friendly, and really couldn't do enough for you. The room I stopped in was fantastic. Because I was leaving early (to swim the river...

Stayed with my teenagers in a family room. Our room overlooked the moors and a field of Alpacas. The hostel has been updated but has kept all the original charm. Very comfortable and well equipped. Friendly and helpful staff who kept the place very clean. Perfect for walks in the area and very close to Bellever Forest with lovely river...

This hostel is situated in the middle of nowhere. It is great if you come by car and then just want to go walking without long drives to your starting point. The hostel is compact and with four families the lounge can become ‘full’ so adults tended to assemble in the kitchen/dining area and chat over tea or wine. I...

Good location if you want to get away from it all, showers on ground floor are all a bit dodgy running hot to cold to hot again but overall a decent place to stay with secure bike storage, drying room for your wet gear and Llamas grazing in the backyard

I arrived the YHA Dartmoor by my own car, it's located in the middle of the national park so the location is quite good in going to other viewpoints nearby (e.g. Bellever Tor, Haytor's Rocks) I stayed in a 6-beds dorm with 4 more girls from Germany The bathroom is great with hot-enough water!

The hostel is welcoming - it's a lovely, cosy old building in a beautiful location. It feels remote but actually only 1 mile from the village of Postbridge, and there is a bus (admittedly only once or twice a day). Only 2 things to note - limited self-catering kitchen space, and also, noise carries at night (people going up and...
