Its a neat trick when a pub can feel welcoming and relaxing when you are the only customers there. This was us at the beginning of service on a misty November mid week lunch time. Food and service excellent. We returned at 1830 on Saturday evening to find the pub packed out mainly with residents. Once again the welcome is... More

An excellent pub with accommodation, ideally situated for those who want to explore north Exmoor on foot. The pub has excellent beers and delicious big portion food, both ideal for finishing off a days walking. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and as good as you'd hope for in an old country pub. Breakfasts are well cooked, substantial and have all... More

We really enjoyed our stay in the Rockford Inn. We were warmly welcomed and the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Our room was clean, spotlessly decorated and comfortable. The Inn is in a lovely valley with a small river running through and is excellent for walkers. Overall, it was great value for money and we'll certainly be... More

Great establishment, fantastic location, and brilliant walks. The Inn was characterful, our en suite bedroom was modern, and lacked nothing. The food was excellent and all of the staff were very professional, - more than that, they were extremely friendly, always cheerful, helpful, and happy to oblige. The Rockford is a great place to stay and the staff an asset... More

This is our fifth trip back to the Inn because it's a real treasure and a great pleasure for us every time we visit (as we have said before in past postings, we only return to worthwhile destinations). As seasoned world travelers for many years, this Inn now our favorite place to visit when we come to the UK. And... More

We are regulars hear having stayed over half a dozen times now and the hosts never dissapoint. A warm welcome with snug comfy rooms, good food and well kept local ales. What more... More

We were doing a circular walk from Watersmeet and this was roughly the halfway point. I can wholeheartedly recommend this inn. It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere with welcoming staff. The beer, although short in choice on this particular occasion was excellent. The lunchtime menu was classic pub fayre but was tasty and nicely presented. They also did pizza as... More
