What a lovely place to stay right in the middle of the beautiful Exmoors in a valley on the banks of the East Lyn River. Beautiful walks in beautiful countryside. We had a lovely modern room with views over the river. The staff were welcoming with nothing was too much trouble. Great local and guest Ales and fabulous food all...

While staying in Lynton we were given advice by our Guest house to try the walk to Watersmeet and then onward to Rockford. What a great walk and then at the end the Rockford Inn a lovely old pub in a beautiful spot. We only called in for a coffee but were made very welcome by one of (I assume...

As usual a great place to rest your aching feet whilst walking around Watersmeet near Lynmouth in Devon. Superb real ales with great meals. Tucked away in a beautiful spot right by the river where from the nearby bridge you can watch trout. Nearby hugh salmon were lurking. We always head for this spot when walking on holiday as you...

What a wonderful hotel. Hidden away in a deep valley on Exmoor it is a hidden treasure. Our room overlooked the river and the lush steep hillside, no mobile phone access here, bliss. You can however get free wifi courtesy of the hotel! Our room was compact but lovely and the food was superb, try the home made pies. Great...

Great room, great food, great location. What more could you ask? The two ladies who run this establishment really have "hospitality" down to a fine art. Terrific walking right from the door. The Rockford Inn really is a hidden gem. This was our second visit - there will definitely be more!

We stayed at The Rockford Inn in late July for 3 nights. Great location and the proprietors were very helpful and attentive throughout our stay. We were there for a short walking and sight seeing visit. Maps and the best walk information were readily supplied. The room, food and beer were very good. Could not complain about anything. Recommended.

The pub is traditional and well maintained inside with lots of interesting bits of bric a brac to look at. Our lunch was sensibly priced, delicious and plentiful! Stayed at the Rockford for three nights, wish it was longer! The setting is beautiful, very quiet and sits beside a river. The room was very clean and modern, we had a room to the side of the inn, so couldn't see the river. Breakfast in the morning was freshly cooked and plentiful, Catherine is very attentive and offers more...
