Stopped here for lunch after our journey down to Combe Martin, friendly locals welcomed our dog and us. The toasted sandwich made with the local bakeries multi grain bread, which is wonderful, and fried in olive oil. Superb. We booked in for a valentine meal on the Saturday ......glass of prosecco, sea bass on fennel/feta/orange to start, king prawn stir...

Lovely cozy room. Top quality breakfast. Ancient pub with a delightful name! And friendly service. All good. Would definitely go back if in the area, and will recommend to friends and family. It's also a great location for a wild and windy walk along the Exmoor coast.

Decided to have dinner here before going to the folk club this evening, and we weren't disappointed. Delicious food including a good selection of vegetarian options. Staff very friendly and efficient. Cosy atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Really glad we found this pub. We wanted a really nice warming lunch. We were not disappointed. My husband had sausages and mash. I had ham, eggs and chips. Really nice. Good portions cooked to perfection. A pudding between us rounded off the meal. The owner and staff were helpful and friendly. A real find.

We had sirloin steak and gammon meals and both were excellent. The meat quality was good and a very decent plate of food. We also enjoy Tribute pale ale so a few pints were enjoyed in front of the open fire. Overall we enjoyed and would eat here again.

stayed overnight for the first time as i was visiting friends and did not want to drive home late at night--luckily there was a spare room, the receptionist was very obliging and friendly and the room was good--breakfast had all the usual suspects and i filled up before setting off home--i thought it was good all round value for £70...
