We left our van at Withypool and walked along the river to the Tarr Steps not realising quite how long it was. When we got there my partner popped into the pub to ask about taxis back to Withypool as with the light fading it would have been far too dangerous to walk back. The lady behind the bar said...

Called in here for lunch after a pleasant 2 hour walk up the river towards Withypool and back with my wife and her old school friend. They both had the scallops and I had the rare beef Ciabatta roll. I could not resist the chocolate brownie and all washed down with a pint of Tarr Farm Inn ale. Everything was...

Great food. Lovely friendly pub. Will return. Dog friendly too. Very reasonable for the quslitu: my steak ciabatta was fantastic and very generous portions. Warm and cosy, perfect for pre or post walk food. Lovely outside area that would be nice in spring/ summer as overlooks the Tarr steps.

We had looked forward to calling into this pub following our walk. We arrived just after 3.00 p.m., "A-board" sign advertised food, including cream teas to 5.00 p.m. I went into the bar which was deserted. I looked around a bit and saw some cake on the bar. After about 15 minutes a young lady appeared and served two gents...

This quaint and rather beautiful inn is set in fabulous Exmoor scenery at Tarr Steps. We had lunch there today and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were made to feel very welcome and the atmosphere was a joy. It's quaint, old and cosy. The service is extremely efficient and well organised. Staff are warm and friendly. I had the most delicious...

Fancy a nice walk through beautiful countryside, meandering alongside the river whilst being overwhelmed by the autumn colours as the trees leave summer behind and prepare themselves for the winter ahead, then this is the place. The walk is easy to medium without any steep inclines or awkward and difficult stretches. And when the circular walk has been completed, visit...

What a find! Very few places offer a gluten free cream tea but we were very happy to find one here (well, two actually). The scone was excellent with more than plenty of jam and cream to top it off. Sat in the garden, overlooking the Tarr Steps Bridge on a lovely, sunny afternoon. Will most definitely visit again next...

Tarr Farm Inn is located in the most beautiful surroundings. The Inn has a wonderful atmosphere created by ahi Larry and her team. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food and wine choices are excellent. We were with a larger shooting party and the entire group enjoyed a great weekend. This is an outstanding rural location for countryside lovers...
