its nice to be able to come to a quiet pub and find somewhere to sit down in relative comfort. However it is not nice or welcoming to be served by surly bar staff and then overhear the barman and his two teenage buddies poking fun at us behind our backs, but not so quietly that we couldn't hear. Glad...

Hi, Sorry to hear about this experience, we have invested time and effort into staff training which has led to a change in staff at the pub. If we can tempt you back, please give me a call to arrange some complimentary drinks to apologise for your experience, which will not be repeated in the future Thanks Laura

We were a group of four. I had previously booked a table. Arriving, we were shown to our table and we gave our drinks order. After a reasonable time, the waitress took our food order. We ordered two belly of pork, a sirloin steak and lamb. All four plates were of excellent quality, tasty as were the vegetables that came...

For £75 per night you don't expect luxury but mould in the shower which was difficult to turn around in, ripped wallpaper along with dead bugs squashed on walls and pillows with dribble stains is unacceptable wherever one stays. Breakfast though was great so my advice, sleep in your car and just come for breakfast.

The B&B was 1 minute from the dog friendly beach. The staff were very friendly and showed us to a rather spacious room (instow) surprisingly as the bar was small. It had wonderfull sea view, a small but clean bathroom and was nice and warm. The evening meal was very nice and well cooked & presented with nice draught cider😃...

The room I booked was with 2 single beds, and very adequate for 1 person. Nice location near the water, and could walk to a Bakery/corner store/coffee hut, and various pubs. The pub at the Wayfarer was very enjoyable and the food was great. Some meals were very large and would satisfy any appetite!. Breakfast came with the room and...

We only called in for a drink but found the Wayfarer's staff very friendly. I found the decor a bit cold but may be this was because it was a cold day. Menu didn't seem very inspiring and didn't have much of a choice.

Stayed here for 5 nights at the end of September and had a really good stay - very warm welcome, nice room (Tarka) which whilst not having the spectacular views enjoyed by the front rooms was comfy spacious and quiet. Very dog friendly and food was good (and plentiful). Breakfasts were good and, on my wife's birthday included toast with...

Room was spacious, ensuite and clean. We had the 2nd floor room and the stairs were on the steepish side, and would not pass Building regulations if built today. It is however close to the beach. Breakfast was served in the bar.

Came here for a family meal. Instow is one of my favourite places in Devon. Had a lovely walk along the beach with our dog and came to the Wayfarer for a bite to eat. My in-laws had the roast dinner, looked lovely loads of vegetables and meat. I had the chicken burger and chips which was very tasty. Nice...
