A good sized caravan for the 6 of us, warm and functional. A couple of good walks directly from site. A great base location to explore Devon from. Down side being dirty bedding left in cupboard (clearly not the deep clean adverised that was needed and delayed check in time). Also no bedding for 4 of the beds when we arrived. That said delivery was made within an hour or so good service when notified of issue. Purchased the additional Clubwifi package at £25 for 5 additional items for a week. This was a big mistake and very disappointing. Service drops out and speeds seem to be powered by hamster wheel. Raised concerns with customer service, only to be asked to fill in an online form and then tumbleweed. Hear nothing from them. Don't purchase, very poor performance and service.…
Took my wife away for her birthday and had a staycation at Castle Brake, staying at Castle Point. Lovely chalet with large hot tub and definitely recommend. Clean, close to Exmouth beach. Loved it!! Recommend Diggers Rest for a meal and taxi is about £12 there and back.
Have just returned from a ten day break, staying in Estuary View. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the site is in a wonderful location with stunning views. It is a very quiet and calm site which suited us perfectly and we were blessed to have a hot tub which was very clean and maintained twice daily. It is an ideal place for touring the area and there are some excellent places to eat out. We used the bistro onsite a few time which was really very good with pleasant, helpful staff and good food, was really impressed that they offered a good variety of gluten free meals. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and gave us suggestions of places to eat out/visit. Just a couple of minor niggles. The wifi was poor, very slow, would have happily paid for a better service. Although the accomodation was fairly well equiped I would have liked a few small bowls/dishes for serving nibbles and some side tables in the lounge would have been nice. I would also have liked a floor mop for the kitchen/bathroom. In no way did these minor issues detract in any way from our overall enjoyment. I would be happy to return to Castle Brake, it is a lovely place.…
We had a lovely weekend break here, we stayed in estuary view and had the added bonus of a hot tub which was great although the only minor issue I would say is that it could do with a screen or panels to shield the neighbouring lodge from view. Accommodation had everything we needed and was very comfortable and relaxing. The reception staff were fantastic, friendly and great customer service. We ate twice at the Castle Inn, honestly couldn’t fault the food and service, both meals were fab and both ladies in the restaurant were lovely. Didn’t use any other facilities so can’t comment but Overall a fantastic place and would definitely revisit.
Back from a week here with husband, two teenagers and our dog. It was probably a bit quiet for our boys but we went out quite a lot, when the weather allowed. The WiFi wasn’t very good and although we paid extra to all have it it never worked properly, much to the boys dismay. The sister camp had a lot going on so was somewhere to go when we needed a bit of life. The staff were lovely and we found the hot tub man very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately our hot tub wasn’t working properly the last two days which was a pain. They got someone else in to look at it but it wasn’t fixed by the time we left. The restaurant was really good and the food far better than most holiday parks. Visited a few local beaches, Jacobs ladder beach in Sidmouth was dog friendly and our favorite. We wouldn’t go back with the children but would if it was just us and the dog. I would recommend for families with young children or anyone who likes peace and quiet. …
