Lovely place inside, log fire and nicely decorated. The food was a bit disappointing, we had sandwiches, sadly very thinly cut bread and skinny fries to accompany, although the fillings were tasty the bread and fries were a let down, just a couple of small changes could make it so much better, as the prices are high, these improvements would...

Excellent stay, room very good, food amazing, staff helpful and friendly, the owners always willing to have a chat. Abbotsbury is a lovely village. The hotel is in a central position and has off road parking. The overall experience from start to finish was above average.

We have visited this pub many times over the years and it has certainly had its ups and downs. It is quite some time since our last visit on a Sunday lunchtime, which was pretty disastrous. We revisited today for Sunday lunch with a degree of trepidation, this was however quite unfounded, we all had a fantastic Sunday Roast in...

A lovely period property, which has been sympathetically restored to create a smart but relaxing ambience. We had the Charlotte Room, a four poster with a huge flat screen TV and small seating area in the bay window with an outlook over St Catharine's chapel and the sunset over the imposing hill on which it stands. The bathroom featured his...

Abbotsbury is a unique place, lots of charme and to find a place like this is not easy. Other B&B are quite expensive. This one has a great price/quality value. Located along the road with a private parking has 9 rooms. We spent 2 nights there and had one dinner as well. If coming back in the area will definitely...

Having survived the beach winds and rain this was welcome respite - the sea food chowder was delicious the chicken sandwich tasty and the burger heaped with both burger and braised shin almost too big to manage ..... but the dog helped and was provided her own chicken and gravy and veg dinner which knocked her out snoring whilst we...

5 adults and a child visited last Sunday and were seated in a spacious conservatory. The starters were large - we had seafood chowder, followed by an equally large roast. Tasty pork, potatoes, Yorkshire and very good veg - plenty of gravy too. The beef was equally good and they cooked up a quick pasta dish for the grandson. Far...

Thomas Hardy would feel at home in this idyllic Dorset gem, sitting next to a roaring log fire sipping on locals ciders with 18th century flagstones underfoot nothing really beats this place for true character. We even brought our dachshund who was made to feel just as welcome as we were by their charming and attentive staff, a new chef...

We have just spent two nights in this characterful and charming hotel staying in the Charlotte room with its fourposter bed individual decor and well appointed bathroom. This historic building has all the charm you expect of a building of this age. The menu is extensive without being over facing and I can only describe the food and service as...

We recently spent four nights at the Ilchester Arms with our daughter and son-in-law. The rooms were comfortable, clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a really comfortable homely hotel with great character and lots of comfortable seating areas, particularly around the huge log fire! The restaurant was excellent with new specials added each day. The...
