On the positive side we were warmly greeted by male receptionist and shown to a large bedroom and were offered tea and biscuits. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom although beautifully appointed was absolutely useless if you just want to have a shower with a very deep free standing bath with a shower attachment making it impossible to shower...

We stayed here with a travelzoo deal in March. When we arrived we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome. Our room had been upgraded which was a nice surprise.( We find when we have stayed at other places with voucher offers we cant awful rooms. Not here though). We had a cream tea in the small bar area. Our meal...

Lovely ground floor room chosen for walk in shower.. had dinner in every night good food well served and all staff were friendly and most obliging. Would stay here again as thoroughly enjoyed ourselves just one tiny niggle we felt the sweets were overporiced.

We had the pleasure of spending a weekend at this very special little hotel. The service was friendly and professional and they bent over backwards for us. We were there with our two young sons and they were so accommodating. The food at breakfast and in the restaurant in the evening was outstanding; we ate there both evening. Our sons...

It was a great weekend. We love that the hotel was so dog friendly. You have a great team and we loved their genuine and kind service – Gareth, the barman was truly a delight. Thoughtful rooms (albeit ours was more than compact – we’ll know to step up to a bigger one next visit), lovely mattress topper, good Molton...

In all honestly our stay was variable, good and bad things. Good location in small town, but not much to do in way of tourism in the locality out of season (everything seems to open at Easter). On site parking was helpful, but a little snug and often crowded with staff cars. The main problem with our stay was that...

We had a great overnight stay, on a B&B basis, and had dinner in the restaurant, which was delicious. The staff are so accommodating and helpful. We were given a room upgrade, great sized room, spotlessly clean, huge bed. Excellent breakfast. We couldn't fault it, not that we wanted to !

My Fiance and I returned to this wonderful gem for our anniversary. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and the staff recognised us from our last visit. The room was lush and decorated to an elegant standard. We enjoyed a wonderful evening of cocktails by candlelight made by the most talented and passionate bartender. Old Fashioneds and Whiskey Sours perfectly...

Lovely hotel lots of charm & character. The staff were very friendly. The car park is very small, but we managed to park our car in it. We stayed in the coach house in a ground floor room and we could hear the floorboards creaking with the people staying above. Nice tea & coffee facilities, dressing gowns and bath sheets...

Spent two nights here. Nice suprise to get room upgraded (thanks!). Although we didn't have dinner, breakfast was very good- particularly eggs benedict and eggs royale. Lovely old hotel in a great location. Only thing that would have made it better would be a better shower but that wouldn't stop me going back.
