We stayed in the new part of this hotel for 4 nights and found it to be very good. Bedrooms large, well decorated and excellent bathrooms. Food very good with large portions and good, cheerful service.

We stayed here in September for a company function, I had rang ahead to book a superior room as I had read reviews about the hotel and fancied an upgrade. Not all superior rooms are on the first floor, there are some on the ground floor near the road. Having seen it we opted for a standard room. A bright...

2 night stay. Beautiful grounds and helpful staff, unfortunately let down by general tiredness of interior - general maintenance poor, with water leaking from under the bath(& evidence of room above having same problem), holes in headboards, peeling paper, and more worryingly missing 'join' to floors from lobby to breakfast room, resulting in potential trip hazard..and mind the lift, dad had the door close on...

We stayed at the Springfield Country Hotel recently while meeting family. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and first impression was good. Helpful staff on reception. Our ground floor double room was comfortable, but quite old fashioned in a nice way. There wasn't a chair in the bedroom, just a dressing table stool. Bathroom had a walk in shower,...

We had pre-booked a 3 night stay B/B Friday to Monday, for an Executive Room with balcony facing grounds/outdoor pool with either a King bed or twins put together. This is the most expensive room at the hotel of £168 per night. On arrival we found the room only had a small double bed in it, although plenty of space...

The overnight stay was a present and we found many good points. Our room was on the first floor and had a balcony overlooking the lovely pond at the front of the hotel. The room and bathroom were very large. The bathroom had a bath for two + a separate shower and under floor heating. There was a good indoor...

Stayed for a family wedding for one night. Staff were helpful but we got there early and they didn't have a spare room for us to change. Walls were paper thing, rooms were not looked after bare electrical wires in some places in general need if a refurb. Breakfast awful plates dirty asked to get out of the breakfast room...

30 years ago, this hotel was probably the height of luxury and class. Today it is immensely dated and the rooms lack the comfort and finish of a hotel at this price point. We stayed in an executive room, which was clean and had a large bathroom (with shower + separate bath), a nice balcony and views over the garden....

My husband described this hotel as Crossroads meets Fawlty Towers. We stayed one night as a last minute stopover in the area. What an unfortunate decision. The hotel is not well signposted. The interior of the hotel is exceptionally dated. Our room was reminiscent of a motel room - ground level, by the car park. You couldn't even sit on...

In summary, a lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. I booked the accommodation for a group of friends so we could walk part of the southwest coast path. When the size of our party changed only a few days before the walk, the reception team were extremely helpful in helping to re-organise the room bookings. My friends found the rooms...
