We've stayed in several Old English Inns before and found them all to be clean, comfortable and great value for money, so we had no hesitation in booking the King's Head when my husband entered a cycle race which started in nearby Ringwood. Before we actually booked he phoned the hotel to make sure there would be somewhere secure to...

Only stayed one night but staff were excellent, my meal was superb and room was very comfortable. They even did some printing for me next morning. I didn't have a cooked breakfast but had the continental, cereal with tea and toast. I took a red apple with me for later. The let down was that later when I bit into...

I booked this hotel fro my parents, as they wanted to go to a nearby Italian restaurant for their anniversary. Their overall experience was fantastic. My mother said it was the best welcome she had ever received in a hotel! The food to the room was excellent and service was fab. They don't do room service per se, but in...

I spent 4 nights here over two trips, and unfortunately did not sleep well any night due to the heat in the rooms, and the chiming of the town clock outside which sounded every 15 mins, including overnight. In another room, i could not leave window open to fight the heat thanks to the over friendly pigeons who wandered into...

This Hotel is in a great position in a beautiful town. Food was very disappointing promised more than was received . Starters disappointing with limp lettuce! Partners risotto was tasteless. My steak was disappointing but eatable and frozen chips. I expected better. Room was at the front so was noisy no double glazing and the curtain rail was hanging off....

I stayed for two nights and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Good choice of evening meals at budget prices and a very good breakfast. Popular eating house and pub for locals too. Interesting individual shops and some good restaurants in the town and,of course the Minster. Not far to visit the sea at Poole. Very good base for west country day...

We booked a table for a special occasion and immediately upon arriving we were faced with a miserable restaurant manager, who did nothing but make us feel like we were in the way. We had prebooked most of the meals required, however we wanted to add one starter, and the look on the managers face was nothing but disgust and...

We booked a table for 5 and went tonight, what can I say but this was the worst service we have ever had at any restaurant. On arrival we were seated but it took 15 minutes to have a waitress to come and serve us, after placing our starter and main order the manager came 15 minutes later to tell...

We visited here with friends for dinner good choice of meals on the menu something for everyone. It was very busy there only seemed to be two people waiting on many tables. They did a sterling job but really needed more staff. The meal was ok but not great. Our friends mentioned their steak was tough. The deserts were excellent...
