I’ve just returned from a short break with 6 all female friends in lodge 2. On the first evening the heating tripped, the duty manager arrived swiftly and reset. However the following morning the overhead lights were not working, again swift response by staff and trip switch

Started well with excellent treatments and friendly spa staff. Then we had the thermal experience in a cold spa pool, steam room was out of order. Checked into a dated room with a cold shower. We thought the lunch would improve the day however it was dreadful ciabatta turned

Lovely hotel and great staff, fantastic rooms. Meals in restaurant were good (even tho it was busy being near Xmas) and breakfast was excellent with a great buffet selection and lovely Full SCOTTISH breakfast.

My husband and I went for afternoon tea today and although the food was lovely the service was poor. By the time we got milk and sugar for our coffee and tea the drinks were nearly cold. This is smthing that should come automatically but I had to ask twice for them. Lovely

Your best bet would be to call the hotel and tell them what voucher you have and ask if you can use the voucher as part payment

You could visit Dumfries House which is not far (though you would probably require a vehicle in case you won't have one). There are nice grounds to walk in and tours etc (not sure what month you'll be visiting). The nearby towns of Cumnock and New Cumnock themselves I don't think have too much to see/do but someone more local can perhaps correct me.

I have no idea I do not work there. I found the staff very helpful and polite during my visit. Not being a vegan myself I found lots of choice on the menu.
