Lovely decor. Spotlessly clean. Helpful friendly staff/ service. Stopped in for some food at dinner time. Fish and chips was delicious. Partner had the macaroni with black pudding. Was really tasty. Can’t wait to come back. Oh also the rose wine was very good too 😃⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We booked this hotel on spec we were just looking for an new year break. What a find fantastic, great staff led by Annie the general manager friendly helpful and prepared to go the extra half mile. Hotel has recently refurbished and is modern clean and comfortable, and is in a great location close to the beach and costal path. Because they were hosting a new year bash there wasn’t any evening meals but recommended the nearby Golf Hotel where we had an excellent dinner and also had great staff and friendly customers. The new year bash in the Balcomie was great, atmosphere was tremendous and we were provided with snacks throughout the night, and the breakfast this morning was outstanding. We will definitely have a return stay.
Went for dinner with friends midweek. Building is really well done up but door was constantly left open by customers so was very drafty. Service was attentive and friendly and our dog was given water and some treats which was a lovely touch. Had tempura prawns for starter which were ok, could have done a proper dip to add to the flavour rather than coleslaw. My friends enjoyed their starters but mentioned the lack of seasoning. The table did not have salt and pepper on the table for us to adjust, and it always feels a bit rude to ask for it. I had a steak for main which was lovely, really enjoyed it but my friend had chicken and chorizo pie and it was really watery - looked more like soup that pie in the dish. Overall felt like the chef had not been tasting the food to check on the seasoning as they went. The hotel had not long reopened and hopefully the chef will settle in more, I will try the hotel again for food and hopefully they will settle into their rhythm.…
Stayed 1 night arriving a little late at 11:30pm . Staff were great even kept the bar open late for us to have a few nightcaps. Breakfast in the morning was superb our party of 4 can certainly recommend the full Scottish and Eggs benedict. Big thanks to the Balcomie Links team
This was the second time my wife and I have had dinner at the Hotel. The first time was with our two teenage daughters and the second time was just me, my wife and the dog, where we ate in the dog-friendly area. On both occasions the food was excellent and was always delivered by a friendly face. Even the dog was welcomed with a fresh bowl of water and a bag of dog treats, waiting at the table! Annie and her staff are very attentive and approachable, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back (again)!!
Full marks to Annie and team at the Balcomie. Dinner was excellent, and served in a lovely setting by very friendly staff. We booked a table in the dog friendly area of the restaurant and our fur baby found a water bowl and bag of dog treats waiting for him when we arrived. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back
A massive shout out to Annie and the team who made us so welcome to this amazing hotel We were on an overnight stay using this as a base for the final section of our walk form North Berwick to St Andrews (in stages over 18 months ) Amazing fresh rooms, comfy beds and an amazing dinner using fresh local food. The Breakfast ( go for the full whack by the way) set us up for our final walk Well done guys will deffo be back
Crail and the 'East Neuk' are great places to visit ant the Balcomie Links Hotel was an ideal place for us to stay. We had a very warm welcome and exceptional service from Annie the manager and her team. Daniel in the bar and restaurant was a mine of local information. Both Breakfast and the evening dinner were first rate in a very comfortable and relaxing environment. Our hotel room, one of the designated pet friendly rooms, was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well presented. Our two dogs also received a warm welcome. All in all, we had a memorable visit and Balcomie Links sets a really high standard for comfort, hospitality and service. Well done and thank you.
Turned up on the doorstep and asked if they had a room for the night, everywhere I'd been was full. They had a room and I took it, I was tired and scruffy from a camping trip gone horribly wrong. The hotel staff were charming and sociable, helpful and good conversation. To my delight I found a well stocked bar and a restaurant with a chef that could cook a steak. The bar staff were jovial and when the found out I was on a fishing holiday they were immensely helpful with advice for the next days fishing. Thanks Ben. Breakfast was another cullenary delight with a lovely serving of eggs Benedict. Fed, watered and well rested I was on my way the next morning. I'm going back.
We booked this hotel last minute on-line. and surprised how modern it was compared to old photographs. The manager and staff are very obliging and professional during our short stay and despite only reopening in July it was very busy both with accommodation and meals. To conclude it is certainly a recommendation that I would suggest to others.
