The owner is very welcoming and helpful. All facilities are as expected of a first class B&B. The location is very quiet, and next to the west shore of Arran - a really lovely setting. A car is needed for getting round the island, unless you are a hardened hiker.

We stayed for 4 nights at this excellent B&B. Our hostess Marion and family are now the new owners of Lochside and they are doing a fantastic job. We stayed in a double room with a view of the sea in the distance. The room and en-suite was very clean with a large comfortable bed. A very tasty full Scottish...

We stayed overnight, arriving on foot from the bus. Newly renovated, absolutely immaculate, beautiful setting, lovely, very attentive host, nice room with windows that open (ah, fresh seaside air!), great breakfast. Short walk on paths by the beach to the township (we recommend the Black Grouse for a meal and whiskies). Full Scottish breakfast was very good with local haggis...

This is the second time we have stayed at Lochside. The rooms and whole house are spotlessly clean. Wide choice of breakfast beautifully presented. You'll not want a lunch that day! The supper at 10.00pm are also amazing.

Lochside is a wonderful house in a fantastic setting. The grounds seem to go on and on and the small lake with the swans was beautiful. Marjorie showed us the lounge where she stated 'Supper in here at 10 o'clock, when I'll take your breakfast order'. We have never been offered supper in a B&B before. She then took us...

This is a beautiful B&B both inside and out. The location, grounds and stunning views are what makes Arran and Scotland so wonderful. Marjorie is definitely the hostess of the year. She is friendly, accommodating and provided a breakfast that is worthy of a 5 star review. We arrived with bikes and she very kindly let us keep them in...

This has to go down as one of the best B& B's we have ever stayed in. Marjorie is a very friendly lady and her breakfasts are to die for. Nothing is too much trouble. Couldn't believe our eyes when at 10pm she wheeled a trolley into the lounge absolutely groaning with a selection of Arran cheeses and beautiful home...

Stayed here for two nights with the Mrs recently and we were both more than happy with the lovely accommodation and the warm hospitality of Mrs Bannatyne. Hint: pack trousers with an elasticated waistband!

We agree with the other reviews. This is a beautifully located B & B, the hostess Marjorie has it just right, and provides excellent quality breakfasts, supper and cleanliness. The room and bathroom was slightly more traditional, but we were happy with our 4 nights, and the style of mixing with the other guests. I would recommend Lochside.

This is my third stay at this delightful venue and it remains the best B and B I have ever stayed in anywhere in the UK. The location is lovely and the rooms are meticulously clean. The breakfast is stunning and the supper is delicious. Marjorie is a great hostess.Highly recommended if you want a quality experience.
