Trust the reviews. Nothing wrong with the Stotfield. No frills, breakfast excellent and staff very friendly. A night out in Elgin then a days golf at Maverston golf course on the Sunday. An ideal base.

Spent now two out of the three nights I've booked for. Since there is a festival going on over here there are no other hotels available otherwise I would have moved elsewhere This hotel needs no renovating but has to be demolished and rebuild. From the badly fixes floors in the corridor to the mould on the walls in the...

Nice Victorian hotel with very friendly staff, good food at an affordable price. Situated next to Moray golf club with an excellent seaview. Would definitely stay there again, very pleasant and easy to get to.

What from the outside looks like a nice hotel hids a multitude of horrors. The place is seriously tired and has a slight odour and not pleasant. My room had a great view of the propane gas cylinder and general rubbish. Wallpaper was falling off the ceiling, mould around the bath, shower would not attach to the wall, water temperature...

Stayed 3 nights b & b with one dinner. Very basic room with curtain hanging off rail, loose and dangerous metal strip joining bedroom to bathroom floor coverings completely loose and bent upwards and blocked handbasin drain. Friends had worse problems with shower not working and hot tap in handbasin which sprayed the room if turned on. Three friends moved...

I have stay hear before but doubt I will again. The rooms are very dated and in dire need of decoration. The food in the restaurant at dinner time was very nice but breakfast was a poor selection. The general décor is very old on the stairs the two flights have different coloured carpet. The upper carpet is threadbare and...

Room not very clean and decoration very poor. The wallpaper had been replaced in places by slightly different shade. Mold in the shower area that was very dirty. Shower heated up eventually then went cold as soon as you had applied the soap - ended up having a wash in the sink. Bed was lumpy and one of the pillows...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel in Lossiemouth. A great relaxed family friendly atmosphere exists at this hotel and is frequented by many returning guests and locals alike. The breathtaking view from the front of hotel overlooks the Moray Firth and beyond to the Cromarty Firth and to the hills of Caithness. The hotel is directly opposite the ancient Moray Golf Club, and is ideally situated for exploring the Coastal, Castle or Whisky trail, as well as being well situated for visiting the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen and surrounding area. The Stotfield Hotel has recently undergone a refreshing transformation of many of its bedrooms and also the ground floor guest area. However, this historic hotel retains many of its original character and features from 1895, including the fantastic sweeping staircase and period revolving front door. During your stay you can enjoy free access to high speed wireless broadband throughout the hotels public areas, free car parking (limited spaces available, ample on street parking adjacent to the hotel) but most of all comfortable and relaxed surroundings. ... more   less
