Michael is a talented chef and Kerensa a hostess with an eye for detail and the comfort of her guests. Our room was tastefully decorated and spotless. There is a cosy lounge with a fire where we could sit and relax. Both were very hospitable and our wonderful meals displayed Michael's talent as a chef. It won't be the last...

We stayed at the 2Quails on the last night of our North Coast 500 road trip and will be returning there in the future. The owners - Michael and Kerensa - are superb hosts and both the evening meal and breakfast the next day were fantastic. Michael is without doubt an accomplished chef, and nothing is too much trouble for...

We definitely recommend this place. Nice folk that enjoy receiving guests. A nice fire in the living/ common room made it nice and cosy. Beds were firm and rooms were clean and charming. We will return if we're back in the neighbourhood.

In a small village like Dornoch, I really didn't expect much for accommodations in a 'golf town'. What a pleasant surprise 2 Quail was for us. Clean, quiet, comfortable and such friendly/welcoming hosts. The meals were excellent as well. Fabulous dinner and breakfast was terrific also. Best black pudding on the whole trip. Get the Scottish breakfast.

Of the two week road trip we have just completed 2Quails was the best stay over we had, unfortunately we were only at this wonderful home for two nights. The first night Michael cooked for us both (and two other couples), as an accomplished chef the meal was quite simply superb, Kerensa was the perfect hostess. Unfortunately the second evening...

We had been recommended Dornoch as a 'must see' destination on our toodle round Scotland. We had thus booked ahead at '2 Quail Guest House' as a base for this part of our trip. On arrival in the area we were a tad surprised (based on the recommendation) to find a seaside town with unsightly caravan park at the beach...

We stayed three nights: my wife and I, daughter and BF. Rooms very comfortable, super breakfast and Michael and Kerensa are the most delightful hosts. We ate like kings and queens!! Turbot one night, lamb the other, and pray that Michael whips up some haggis fritters. Do yourselves a favor and let Kerensa choose your wine, cheers!

My wife and I stayed at 2 Quail for two nights. It was a wonderful surprise. It will be remembered as the highlight of our trip to Scotland. Dornoch is a sweet hamlet. The owners of the Guest House - Kerensa and Michael Carr - were warm and welcoming from the moment they greeted us at the door and helped...

This was the best B & B we stayed in on our visit to Scotland. This is a lovely home with very big rooms, large bathroom (a rarity) and actual wifi in the room. All the B & B's advertise free wifi, but we found very few really have wifi in the individual rooms. The breakfast was made to order...

Booked blind for me by a friend, this turned out to be a excellent choice and merits a return. Owners very welcoming, rooms to a very high standard and breakfast to last the day. NB they also do dinner (previously a restaurant with rooms). There are undoubtedly similar such places to choose from in Dornoch but this should be high...
