We stayed here for a night by chance after giving up trying to camp in a storm on Skye. Packed up what was left of the tent in Skye and hit the road, ending up in Fort Augustus. We were going to camp here but decided to enquire about the lodge. They had a twin room left so we snaffled...

We spent one night here whilst visiting the area. The room was clean and the beds comfortable, but it was very basic. No mirror, and no towels supplied. Then again, it's classed as a hostel. The bathroom seemed clean enough but the floor tiles in the shower were rather slippy, and nothing to grab hold of if you slipped! Nowhere...

We had a room very like that of a college hall. No sink in the room. Not en suite. The shared "bathroom" was like a primitive swimming pool shower area. I hadn't realised it when I booked it. "Shared" bathroom doesn't usually mean shared with 20 other rooms. My bad. It wasn't expensive but was just about what we had...

Staff are friendly. Rooms are fine. WiFi works. Communal area is good. The shared showers are a bit like campsite showers but this is a bunkhouse so no worries. Stayed there twice now and will no doubt be back

We stayed in this hostel just for a night while coming back from Isle of Skye. I chose this hostel for its location (5 min walk from Loch Ness) and price. The room was a twin room with spring beds, which weren't very comfortable. That's it. There is no chair or table in the room. The room does have electricity...

I booked 2 nights in the lodge - me and my 12 year old daughter. Private room 2 single beds no bathroom. It cost £92 - very expensive for a lodge like this n- a B and B or hotel is not much more with breakfast and en-suite. Noisy banging doors all night, thin walls can hear neighbors talking, bed...

Third annual visit to Stravaingers lodge, and each year it gets worse, to the point where we probably won't bother again. First year we could eat breakfast and evening meals and get drinks in the bar. Second year no breakfast, this year nothing. Didn't see the bar open at any time. Good job the pub just over the road is...

Great location and clean comfy room and beds. Very secure and trustworthy. Ideal for walking the great Glen way. Only a few minutes to the start of all the local amenities. Easy check in and check out. Only points would he a plug socket in the room, that would be a big help x

We pulled up late to this campsite in the hope they would have a spare room as we didn't fancy camping another night. We were in luck. The woman who booked us in was very helpful, we soon had our keys and unloaded the car into a lovely twin room. Very clean. The showers and toilets were clean too. Had...

An excellent affordable place to stay in Fort Augustus has a huge kitchen, clean rooms and friendly and approachable staff, we will be staying there again next year when we travel to Fort Augustus for a family celebration.
