Visiting to see a show at the Strathpeffer Pavilion I chose the Ben Wyvis due to it's location and price. It is a lovely grand building with a short sweeping drive. The public areas are very nicely presented and the reception staff were friendly on arrival and departure. There is some parking outside although a few cars had difficulty on... More

Beautiful hotel, the staff were very nice and the rooms were very nice and cosy. Our room was over looking the gardens at the front of the hotel. The breakfast in the morning was a buffet and good quality. The down I would say was not enough lights outside when arriving..There is also a cinema room..

Arriving at Ben Wyvis Hotel up the sweeping driveway was impressive. Reception was welcoming & our rooms were comfortable and clean with everything we needed. The bathrooms were also clean with plenty of very hot water. Breakfast was a buffet style. Good food with lots of choice. We loved the general old fashioned by gone era of the hotel. All... More

Room damp , cold and not very clean , food cold at dinner and breakfast, not up to the usual crerar standards at other hotels they are . Normally excellent in every way . Think rooms need upgrading , and housekeeping leave a lot to be desired

You feel as if you are not only in the country but living with a lord and lady. The place is impressive from the outside and the dining room is syunning. However, the room could have been better and it could have been warmer (couldn't adjust the room heating).

the hotel is lovely a touch dated but really nice, seeing glimpses of the past delights. Room was spacious and clean. The food was good, although not a lot. Staff very helpful. Atmosphere so relaxing. Enjoyed it so much going back again in November

A lovely old grand hotel in a former Spa town. We have stayed a few times over the years and the owners, Crerar, have definitely made improvements. There are odd chips in the furniture and signs of wear and tear but tourism in Northern Scotland doesn't really sustain modern pristine hotels. Table de Haute dinner is an excellent 3 course... Spent four nights here during a wonderful spell of autumn weather. The entrance is somewhat dilapidated, the front steps not in pristine repair and a bit grubby. The decor is mostly dark, including in the bedrooms. Ours was small but looked out on the mountain Ben Wyvis. A bright spot was the charming helpful receptionist who met all questions with... More

My wife and I have stayed in the Ben Wyvis three times. On the first two occasions, we were delighted with the service and the quality of food served. The building is old and would benefit from some upgrading. However, it has a special character which we have enjoyed in the past. On the most recent occasion that we stayed... More

I really cant say enough good things about the town of Strathpeffer, the entire place gives you the feel your an extra on a movie, quaint charming and perfect everywhere you loo! Breakfast in their grand dinning room is amazing! We were so happy we accidentally stumbled across this gem in our travels. Rooms were a bit dated but the... More
