We spent only a night at Cartomie B&B in early September, as we were on our way to the west coast, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The B&B is located about an hour north of Inverness, and an easy drive after a long plane ride to the UK. It is also located near a lovely pottery place in Tain, a...

My partner and I stayed with Chris for a night. Chris is a lovely host whose suggestion in Tain for dinner (Royal Hotel) was great. The room is quite spacious and it is a lovely space to be in. Breakfast in the atrium has a unbelievable view and very yummy room.

Very comfortable accommodation in quiet surroundings, with welcoming and hospitable hosts, and just a few minutes from the A9 is also an excellent stopover on a long trip north or south. Great breakfast, excellent value for money, highly recommended.

The breakfast was really delicious - prepare yourselves to eat a lot of good food! We had some good talks about the history of Scotland and we received a lot of great advice on where to...

A friend and I drove north to see the Pictish monastery at Portmahomack. Several places in and around Tain were booked or pricey. We found this excellent B&B in Edderton. Good value. We were very comfortable. Excellent hospitality. Very good breakfast and beautiful conservatory. It is very quiet. Bathroom was clean and spacious. An added bonus: a class 1 Pictish...

We booked in to Cartomie for three nights as we wanted to explore the area. The B&B is really well located for both the east coast and a day trip to the west coast too. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owners were extremely helpful and gave us advice about eating locally. The breakfasts were great and...

We stayed here from 2nd-6th of August and just loved it! Chris and Russell really went out their way to make us feel as welcome as possible. The B&B itself is kept in the cleanest condition and has everything you need for a very reasonable price. It is situated a short drive from Dornoch and Tain so is the perfect...

We just stayed for one night on our way from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to the North of Scotland. Both Cartomie B&B as well as the region of Tain are worthwhile staying longer. We were given a warm welcome, and everything was shown to us. The room was comfortable and the ensuite bathroom quite spacious. Everything was very clean. The welcome even included...
