This B&B really is in a league of its own, having stayed in a couple of other B&Bs that were not as expected it was a relief to be welcomed here again. As a keen viewer of 'Four in a Bed' I am afraid that I did inspect the shower drain and it was spotless ! The room and ensuite...

Six of us arrived 2 on bikes plus 1 car and one camper van, the boys on bikes were nearing the end of their journey from Lands End to John O'Groats. The welcome was great, the rooms were as good as a five star hotel. I think all six of us ordered different breakfasts and they were superb.

We stayed here for one night on our 5 week Land's End to John O'Groats trip and could happily have stayed for much longer. Wemyss (rhymes with dreams, as Christine said!) House is about 7 miles south east of Tain at Byfield and is run by the very friendly Christine and Stuart. They designed the wonderful sunroom and "porch" with...

When you first arrive you feel as though you are going to be staying in a remote countryside location. However, you quickly realise that Wemyss House is ideally located the locality. The bedrooms are more boutique hotel than bnb, big comfortable bed, very well furnished with some nice touches and a good size bathroom. Breakfasts are absolutely first class; prepared...

We both send thanks for the review of your stay at Wemyss House. It is so good to hear that all elements of the B&B experience combined to make your stay so special. Get the new car on the road north again...there is plenty more to see and the White Room is waiting...

Stayed one night to break a journey and were sorry not to stay longer. Our super-king room on the ground floor was unusually spacious and comfortable, with a view across fields to the Cromarty Firth. Christine was very friendly and welcoming and my wife enjoyed talking gardening with her. Breakfast was good, with a very nice selection of fruit, and...

We were sorry too that you were only here for one night as we enjoyed your company and its always good to have a wee 'blether'. We are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful rural position yet, as you say, be only a 15 minute drive from Tain. The sun room does have a wonderful view across the...

We stayed 1 night at this fabulous B&B and found Stuart & Christine to be the most wonderful , friendly hosts. Their attention to detail is second to none, room was excellent and spotlessly clean and the breakfast absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Hi Jogger55, Great guests, glad you enjoyed the room and breakfast, we enjoyed having you to stay. It's always good when we have guests who appreciate all the little things, and as you say, 'attention to detail'. Do hope you can return for a longer stay in the future. Thanks for your review.

Having joined Tripadvisor only recently, I and my husband feel we really must record our commendation for 'Wemyss House'. It has been our regular 'home from home' on visits to northern Scotland over many years. The location, the house itself, food and facilities are of a very high order - and the hosts unfailingly warm, welcoming, informative and entertaining in equal...

Comes to something when you can't remember how many times you've visited a B&B. This one is our regular stopping place for our annual trip to Orkney. We always get the SuperKing room, with great views. The welcome feels like coming home, the trick is to know that BYO beer, wine and whiskey which allowed full enjoyment of the great...

As regular visitors to Scotland since 2000 we knew that £120 per night was half again what most good B&Bs charge, but we figured we'd treat ourselves to a romantic splurge at this self-appointed luxury home. Unfortunately what we experienced was a very average B&B, run by a self-satisfied couple who remind at every turn that they build their own...

Trip Advisor is a useful tool when seeking reviews, we use it ourselves. We note from your many previous Trip Advisor reviews of B&Bs/Guest Houses/Hotels, that we are not the first to receive a lengthy overblown criticism of a stay that was not to your taste and satisfaction. As owners of a B&B, we know it is difficult to please...
