All round nice place to stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. All the Staff were very friendly and helpful. I took a little dog with me and she was made to feel very welcome, she wasn't allowed in the Breakfast dining area but they set up a little table in the bar. Nothing was too much trouble for them. To top everything..the breakfast was delicious.

Just had some food from the new Take Away menu and I can throughly recommend it. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. Best take away fish yet. The smoked haddock and truffle pasta was the tastiest eight pounds we have ever spent. Absolutely delicious. Phoned the order in and picked it up 15 minutes later. Our new favourite. 😃😃😃😃

My first day out since February took me into a very safety conscious glamorous setting inside and out. Food was healthy, different from the usual and all courses were mouth watering and scrumptious. Had Sweet Potato Starter then Duck with a sauce to die for! Would recommend both and my sweet was Pear Tart which was equally delicious. All staff were safety conscious as well as smart dressed and very helpful and friendly and Iand ny friend loved the wonderful room of mirrors as well as the French Style Candle Lanterns. Sparkling Hitel everywhere you turn Comfy safe seating all arranged for you so hurry along to see for yourself. Cant wait to return here

Good stay at this hotel centrally located for access to Glasgow at 30 miles and Edinburgh at 45 miles, 9 miles to East Kilbride Station where for £5.10 return and £1.50 for car parking is worth thus option especially as Glasgow City centre has a low emission zone.

Hotel food is good and wholesome, WiFi signal in room was weak to non-existent but strong in bar area.

One star removed as housekeeping is poir, asked for my room to be cleaned and resupplied, and nothing happened, what a failure.

I went with family and friends to the Strathaven hotel for dinner last night and we were seated in an exquisite private dining room.

Upon arriving we were Immediately offered menus for both food and drink. The drinks order arrived quickly and very shortly after the food arrived.

I only wish I had taken pictures to show how beautifully presented the food was.

Although they are working on a limited menu due to covid there was still a great variety to suit and vegetarian options available.

I had the butternut squash starter which was delicious followed by the house salad with chicken (salmon option available) and I can’t tell you how incredible the dressing on the salad was. Some of our party had the French onion soup which they described as to die for and the lamb which was out of this world. Everyone of our party thought the quality and quantity of the food was outstanding, including the children.

I will 100% be back again as the food has left me dreaming about what I will try next on the menu.

Incredible job and hats off to the chef for creating and executing an incredible menu of outstanding food 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Staff were naturally friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Not an extensive menu, they are focusing on quality here and the prices reflect that. If you’re looking for an eat all you can at low cost then step away. That said you get what you pay for and it’s worth every penny. Ive paid a lot more for an inferior dining experience elsewhere. For starters we had the scallops and the Caesar salad. Then we had one of the specials, which was rabbit as well as the the sea bass followed by another special for sweet. Beautifully presented and you could definitely taste the quality and care that went into each dish. Excited to return and have more delicious food.

We stayed two nights, were impressed by the above-average quality of and imagination shown by dinner and breakfast menus and bowled over by the quality of customer service, particularly by the reception staff and by Jessie, in charge of breakfasts. We have very rarely been made to feel so welcome - and so special - anywhere we have stayed in many hotels in the different parts of Great Britain. These major assets amply compensated for a slight sense of tiredness in the room decor and upkeep. Strathaven is a fine town and we have eaten at the Strathaven hotel before and been impressed, but this was the first time we had stayed. Having done so, we think that the hotel is a credit to the town and we very much hope we get the chance to stay again.

We attended an acoustic concert in the hotel and booked a room rather than travelling home after the event. On arrival the hotel receptionists were a delight, so welcoming. I have travelled a lot for leisure/business and I can’t recall such a warm welcome. This level of service continued in the dining room for dinner and again at breakfast. The receptionist at check out was different and again wonderful service. This seems to be the norm standard of service throughout the hotel and was commented on by other hotel guests we met. Our room was in line with a Country house hotel, slightly dated but spotlessly clean. We will definitely be back - lovely hotel, good quality food and excellent service. Well Done to all at the Strathaven Hotel.

Brought my family to stay in this hotel to show them round the local area from where my paternal family originate since the 16th century. We occupied 4 rooms - 11,12,14 and 15 and found them to be clean and comfortable. I was in room 15 which overlooked the rear garden, room was large and comfortable meeting all our needs, the only downside was the bathroom and although perfectly adequate could do with an upgrade. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful from reception through to restaurant/bar and housekeeping staff. Service and food could not be faulted, the hotel is a large old building with adequate parking and is ideally situated for walks and local sightseeing.

We telephoned and ordered the “Home Dinning” menu and were not disappointed.
We picked up our order at the hotel and found the food ready to cook at home.
All well prepared and complete with full details of all ingredients used and instructions on how to cook
All three courses were really very good and did not disappoint in either portion size or taste.
All in, a very good experience and will repeat soon.
Would recommend this, meal and wine were thoroughly enjoyed and represented excellent value.
