We were touring west Scotland and wanted somewhere on Islay that had a bit of activity around it! The Island Bear is centrally situatuated in the small town of Bowmore with free parking available on the street outside. The decor is very quirky but the room was comfortable and relatively spacious. We even had a small sofa on which we...

We spent two nights here. Bobby is lovely and he made us feel very welcome. The Island Bear is well-maintained and unpretentious and we felt right at home. Breakfast was delicious. Perfect location: walking distance to Bowmore distillery, restaurants, the co-op. Free parking on streets outside.

We had a very nice stay at Island Bear. The guesthouse itself is really cosy and romantic - they invested lots of efforts to make it a little adventure like Treasure Island (you can even see the treasures maps and lots of other small things around). This house is a typically men`s world. I`d like to have a mirror in...

The Island Bear B&B in Bowmore has a very plain and traditional street frontage tucked in beside a sweet shop (also run by Bobby the proprietor), but once inside and upstairs the décor is wonderfully eclectic with a combination of traditional Scottish and a nautical theme! The rooms are either on the 2nd or 3rd floor with great views across...

Excellent pristine clean accommodation, lovely view, comfy bed and good room facilities. Friendly welcoming host with a full 'Scottish breakfast' served at the time you require it. Plenty of available tourist information and a comfortable lounge area for a relaxing read/rest after a days exploring the wonderful beaches of Islay. Highly recommend this B & B.

We did stay in cabin number three. The room was beatiful and had an ocean view. The bathroom had a view to the village. Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was plentyfull. Bowmore is also very good location for visiting distilleries.

We stayed for one night, we would like to have stayed for a second but unfortunately they were fully booked. Our room, Cabin 3 was really cosy and had a great view. The bathroom was very nicely decorated with a huge bath! Breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day. We would definitely stay there again.
