It is lovely to spend time here especially with good weather and the houses are so interesting and the history puts the way of life from 1945 onwards into perspective and is sad in a way that the village was abandoned in 1965.

Due to the ferry schedule, I won't arrive on the Isle of Lewis in time to get into the Blackhouse Village for a tour. Is it possible to still walk around and visit the outside of the buildings, or is access restricted to overnight guests when it's closed?
