Stayed here for two nights early October. Weather was windy and wild but we managed a walk along the beautiful beach. We stayed outside in the cottages. They were clean but badly in need of a bit of TLC. Decoration was a bit dated and window rattled in the wind. We had to put a newspaper in it during the... More

In truth, Richard may be a tad on the quirky side. He had a few opinions, which I may not have agreed with but I truly respected what he had to say. I quickly learned that he is very well read. But mostly, what a fabulous cook and host he can be! He's lovely! If you are looking for, corporate... More

This was our first trip to Lewis and the Uig area. As it was high season we were prepared to pay top pound for accommodations, and Baile-na-cille did not disappoint with their high season rates. However, I did have high expectations for the prices we were paying. What a disappointment. The room we stayed in was very adequate, but nothing... More

We were looking forward to staying here as Baile-na-Cille is in a fantastic location overlooking Uig sands. My partner stayed here several times about 20 years ago, with the current owners, and enjoyed it so much he wanted to return. We had difficulty getting booked up as emails were not replied to - we had to phone to confirm and... More

Following an amazing experience last year, we could not wait to return to Baile-na-Cille, and our visit on the 5th and 6th July did not disappoint! Our room had a duel aspect view of the amazing Uig beach. A good size on-suite with large shower and bath. A delicious 4 course meal cooked by the owner Richard, good conversation over... More

We are not new to the Western Isles and last time we were there I thought that Uig Beach was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. Baile Na Cille is in an idyllic location and I thought we were about to have a wonderful night there but my illusions were very quickly shattered. The owner, Richard Gollin, was... More

Thirty six years later I returned here for part of a Western Isles jaunt. Still the same fabulous location and fine food a home from home. Mr G energises the place with a lively mix of banter and bull..it. During my visit he was initiated into the guild of spurtle users indeed an emotional experience.

Visited here as part of our 40th wedding anniversary and the real downside was the weather and not able to appreciate the dark sky views due to cloud. A long drive leads to a former Manse/vicarage with beautiful views across the bay and graveyard looking serene withe interred facing the sea. We had a pleasant room with an excellent bathroom... We were desperate to be dry after two weeks in our campervan and booked overnight but stayed for 4 nights as it was so lovely. Richard was an excellent host with good hearty food and clean and comfortable rooms. Our collie was made welcome (there were a few others!)and the surrounding area breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful. Food is eaten communally... More
