Set in very peaceful surroundings, the hotel was beautiful, with an amazing sunset in the evening. Staff were lovely, and very helpful and accommodating during my stay. Had a meal in the restaurant and really enjoyed it; lovely prawns and burger, and the coffee was amazing! Would definitely recommend this hotel for both food and a place to stay.

Stopped for light refreshments.Toastie and Camembert in breadcrumbs. Lovely. View of the bay stunning. Plenty of parking. Does not serve food all day. Very interesting old photos on wall. On bus route.

Popped in hoping for lunch but the entrance "foyer" smell was awful so appetites lost instantly. Decided on coffee only and thank God I drank it BEFORE I visited the loos!!! Like some kind of hostel look. Unbelievably poor, massively cracked sink, tiles grubby etc. I wanted to touch nothing. But people were eating in the "restaurant", though there seemed... More

Rude, poor service and poor quality. Was here last weekend, could not have had more disgruntled staff and rude customer service. If you are travelling through the lovely area of bunessan, just do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all costs!

Ate here in a medium size (5 people) family group in early August 2016. It was a hugely disappointing experience. Compared to two years ago, when we ate twice in the course of a week, and it was fine. We booked a table in advance, three days earlier - my eldest son cycled 4 miles in driving rain and a... More

My wife andI stayed in the Argyll Arms for 2 nights bed and breakfast in July while visiting our Son who is working on the Island. We were very pleased with this friendly hotel in a beautiful part of Scotland. Lorn and his Son made us feel very welcome, our room was great and the Scottish breakfast was brilliant and... More

Friendly staff, good food and bar, clean comfortable accommodation. Great value for money, beautiful scenery, very cute little historical town to spend a few days. Bunessan is only half an hour for the ferry to Iona such a beautiful part of the world, stay longer than 2 nights though as we found we had so much more to see but... More

We stayed for two nights here and fortunately we were exhausted after loads of walking as this is the only way to sleep on such an uncomfortable bed. The mattress was dreadful, too small for the bed and sagged over the edges where it did touch. Also, although the bar was almost empty downstairs, we could hear the music all... More

We have just visited and were booked in for three nights but checked out a day early as it was a terrible stay! Our room was dated, bathroom with grubby towels, dirty, rusty shelves, mattress was too small for the frame, old carpet, dinner was off the specials board and was a mince pie with a pastry lid that seemed...
