A great place to stay. Very friendly and inviting. I really enjoyed the smell of a fire burning as we entered the foyer. The breakfast is something I still think about. Keep your eyes open driving in and out we saw an awesome buck running...More
Fantastic 3 days. This place is better than the pictures online. This is a very idyllic west coast cottage. We even saw the Milky Way and watched the northern lights on the first night.
Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen (bottled water provided by the...More
A decidedly special place to stay on the Isle of Mull, where we appreciated a sumptuous, spacious and very comfortable ensuite bedroom with panoramic views of the sea and inner islands, good food (mostly local produce) served up in a splendid dining room, courteous and...More
The flat is lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. There is a luxurious feel to the apartment which is exactly what we had hoped for. Lovely walks around the castle with spectacular views of Ardnamurchan across the Sound of Mull.
We were only visiting Scotland for a short time and the choice to stay at Glengorm Castle helped make the most of it! The grounds are stunning. Pictures cannot fully convey the beauty of this place, with the coastal views and rolling fields - but...More

I can't tell you anything about Laorin, but both the bedroom and the bathroom in Mingary were huge. The bedroom had double aspect windows looking out to the coast and beyond with a further window in the bathroom. The room was fine but as I said in my review, it was a shame none of the occasional seating in the bedroom allowed us to enjoy the views without shunting furniture aound. Maybe a few questions of the hotel will tell you if Laorin offers any advantage. If you're looking for the full baronial Scottish castle experience, this property won't disappoint, but I found the views from the Western Isles hotel (and especially the Tobermory room) to be infinitely more interesting. Hope this helps?
