The Isle of Skye is absolutely amazing, and this hostel was relatively cheap and had a great atmosphere. We lucked out and had a room on the top floor just for our group. There is a nice lounge area and a kitchen where you can make your own breakfast.

Reasonably priced bunk room accommodation nice lounge, kitchen and make yourself breakfast for an extra £2. Staff very welcoming and keen to help. Had a 2 bed room for two nights and it was one the small side but clean and comfortable, perfectly adequate for the price.

I spent two nights in this hostel during a 3 days tour of Scotland. We had a full cottage booked for us with breakfast included. The rooms were clean and very close to two restaurants (the only ones of the village).

It's a nice hotel with a friendly staff, an equipped kitchen and a cosy common room where you can discuss your day with fellow travelers. I immediately felt at home, the atmosphere is very friendly and informal.

Came here as part of our tour of the Scottish highlands and was pleased with the accommodation. Very plain but a homely feel to the place. Really good wifi and adequate kitchen facilities but nothing amazing. Good breakfast served in the morning for £2.

Me and my friend booked a double room but the bed was so small we had to alternate between sleeping in the bed and on the floor (which had approx 50cm of space). Staff were unhelpful due to working a few hours for a free bed and having no knowledge of the local area, or desire to find out. Also,...

This was the worst hostel that I've ever stayed at. We were only there one night, and that's a good thing because the showers were ridiculously small and there was no way to keep your clothes dry in there. The sink in the bath was about the size of my shoe - hard to wash your face and not get...

I'll give this an average rating. I stayed for 2 nights in September 2016. I had a room to myself. Very tiny and low ceilings. I had a panic attack and had to leave the hostel and walk around Kyleakin for a spell. While the tiny area was clean, just too tiny for me. WIFI only works in the kitchen...

Although there was my first time in a hostel, I can say absolutely that Skye Backpackers Hostel is a very hospital and nice place to stay! I spent two night in this hostel and I had the opportunity to know the polite and friendly staff and my companions of room. It was an amazing experience! The kitchen also is nice...

We stayed at the hostel for 2 nights. The hostel was doable. The beds were clean. And the people working there are really nice. It's old and shabby. The shower is small, but like I said it was doable. It was not like we were at the hostel 24/7, when we were there the staff was nice and very helpful....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Isle of Skye is situated on the west coast of mainland Scotland, and is the largest and best known of the Inner Hebrides. One of Europe's most dramatic and haunting lands, words can do little justice to describe Skye's awesome beauty. You simply have to see it for yourselves. Skye Backpackers sits in the picturesque fishing village of Kyleakin, skirted by mountains and sea. It's a small, cosy and friendly hostel with loads of character and great staff who are committed to ensuring you make the most of your time on the island. Our accommodation is comprised of 2 Double Rooms, 1 Twin Room, 1 Triple Room & 5 Dorm rooms that vary in size between 4-8 beds per room. We also have 2 caravans in our garden which can accommodate up to 20 people. All of our beds come complete with full bed linen and 2 pillows so there is no need to bring your sleeping bag. We have a great fully equipped self catering kitchen, a sunny dining area and the famous Groove Lounge with a real coal fire, loads of books and games and spectacular seaside views. Take some time to explore the island's haunted castle ruins; feel the mysterious presence of the legendary faeries in tranquil glens, waterfalls and mountain pools; visit whiskey distilleries and sample local beers and ales; take a relaxing stroll through the countryside or boldly ascend a mighty mountain. There’s plenty to see and do around the Isle of Skye so come and ask us for ideas – we’re a friendly bunch! We will give you all of our ‘Top Tips’ on our fantastic island and will even give you a FREE MAP. Possibly the BEST way to explore Skye is onboard our magical, mystical day tour with MacBackpackers. You can experience all of the best parts, learn all about the history & mythology and even hike up the dramatic hills for amazing views. Day tours start & finish from our hostel, cost £29 and can be booked at reception.(subject to availability) There are endless Cycling, Walking & Kayaking Routes literally on our doorstep. If you have your own bike or kayak with you it can be stored in our shed and we have bike wash facilities in our garden. If the weather catches you out, you can hire a pair of wellies and buy waterproof ponchos from reception. The hostel reception is open from 7am - 12 noon and then from 5pm - 10pm. If you arrive in the afternoon feel free to leave your bags, help yourselves to a cup of tea and we will check you in between 5pm-10pm.
