We stayed at the hostel for a week while at a course at the university and it was a very good choice. Lovely warm welcome, comfortable facilities and good mattresses and shower. We stayed in the private 4 bed dorm. It was really good having a fully equipped kitchen. It was a treat waking up each day to such a...

We arrived in that place and the owner was very kind with us. He helped us finding something to eat although it was very late. The place is very peacefull with a wonderfull view above the sea. Inside the ambiant is warm and we have immediatly the feeling of being in our family house with the woodfire. It is not...

Great location and incredible view. It was quiet and cozy. The wifi didn't work when we were there, and we were a bit confused when we arrived because no one was there to greet us in the office. The main bunk area was in a bit of an upheaval (we found out that they were in the midst of setting...

We stayed in Flora MacDonald for two nights, and really enjoyed the view from the windows. We had a room in the Annexe and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms could be a little bit cleaner; however the overall impression of the place and the very gentle owners do not let you become disappointed.

We were just looking for a place to spend the night but we stayed in the hostel for 3 days. The hostel has a great view looking over the sea and it’s surrounded by pastures (with ponies) which makes it a very nice place to relax. The dorms, kitchen and bathroom are very clean and well equipped. On top the...

We absolutely adored our time at the Flora Macdonald. The owner and his wife are lovely people who made us feel right at home. We could stay here forever! The view is extraordinary. The beds were fabulous and it was my first good night sleep since arriving in Scotland.

Great location, views and hospitality. Very peaceful. Accommodation was excellent, considering it is a hostel. The price beats most other offerings in the area. Well equipped kitchen. Beds were new in the part of the hostel I stayed in. Im going back next year. Those expecting hotel quality facilities should go to a hotel !

I stayed with my husband, teenage daughter and her friend in the private room overlooking Sleat sound. The room had four bunks and it was clean with a private bath. We were the only guest in this portion of the hostel. There was wifi and a full kitchen, and laundry facilities.the owner was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Scotland...

We stayed in the Annexe and had a private room. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the whole place seems to run itself. Its all a bit run down and dilapidated. Peter just left us to it. Not enough water for 2 people to get a decent shower. Sheet sleeping bags instead of bedding. The location suited us as we...

My friend and I stayed here one night in June. This seems to be about the right amount of time to stay here, enjoying the beautiful view, seeing the ponies, and appreciating the tranquility of the location. Then you can go off to another place that is more accessible, cleaner, and better kept up.
