Lovely location at the edge of the village, we were 2 cyclists doing Lands End to John O Groats and badly in need of a comfortable room, Schiehallion House was just the ticket, made very welcome and were given the option of 2 rooms, one with en suite, one bigger but not en suite, we chose the smaller en suite...

We stayed in Schiehallion Guest House in January 2015. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are fairly basic and dated, but they were clean and I don't think you could ask for more for the budget price tag. The breakfast was lovely. We will definitely come back when the ski season starts.

I was doing a nostalgic solo trip to Scotland whan I stayed at Schiehallion. The room was clean and warm, but I could almost touch both walls, so not the largest bedroom I have ever been in. Shared bathroom, not a particular problem. The welcome was warm and the food was adequate. Try spending a little more on your sausages...

I stayed here in June 2014 for a week. The accommodation was excellent. Room was clean and well equipped. John and Kathleen could not do enough for me. Breakfast was good and times were flexible. The only downside was the wifi was not strong enough to connect to the internet for any length of time. I will definitely stay here...

Stayed here for two nights as a couple. Asked to change my room a week or so before with no major issues. Got a phone call en route to warn us about the limited places to eat late in the evening and generally felt the couple running the B&B were very nice. As previously commented - the rooms are small...

This B&B is needs a lot of work to bring it up to basic accomodation. The couple were very nice but the rooms were very small and needed cleaning. We were booked for 2 nights however decided that we would only stay 1 night. We were charged for the 2 but we were happy to still leave! It was reccomended...

We stayed one night at Schiehallion House and enjoyed our stay. The room though small was charming and well decorated. Our hosts were warm and friendly and provided a gluten free breakfast. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the room and there is a nice selection of Scottish shortbread biscuits.

We did not have much choice as we travelling in peak season and this was the only option left to the tourist information centre who did our bookings for us, and once we arrived we could see why. Even though the hosts were pleasant and very chatty the house needs serious cleaning and revisioning which might explain why the hosts...

A simple place but pleasant. It was just a quick break a for one night staying. Breakfast ok, confortable beds, clean and cute rooms. Nothing extraordinary or fancy but pleasant. Braemar is a cut small village. A good stop before visiting Balmoral. A great stop if you go hiking in mountains.

It is worth a quick visit to see Scotland's smallest "double ensuite room", but better to stay elsewhere (there are places locally that are much better value). Heating is brutally controlled, so avoid the colder months if you do visit.
