We have recently returned from our eleventh visit to Callater Lodge. Our third owners Julian and Katy Fennema are a vibrant young couple who work hard to ensure all guests visiting Callater have an enjoyable and happy holiday. You are warmly welcomed with home-made cake and tea or coffee, which is also left in your bedroom every day. The breakfast...

We received such a warm welcome from Julian and felt right at home. He brought us tea in the great room, which was so thoughtful, as we watched snow falling lightly outside....such a surprise! Our four poster bedroom was spacious even with a sofa and village view. We were able to walk to dinner at the local hotel and eat...

We stayed at Callater Lodge in April for the Balmoral Races weekend, and the business has new owners, Julian and Katy since our last visit a couple of years ago. Pleased to say that we were not disappointed, and the new owners have taken the previously high standards of Callater Lodge and improved these even further. Every aspect of our...

There was no question where we would book again in Braemar, if they had availability. Fortunately Callater Lodge did! Katy and Julian provide a wonderfully warm and welcoming guest home with much appreciated personal touches...and amazing baking! On this occasion we were up for 4 days photographing a black grouse leck and other wildlife, with Mark Hamblin our excellent local...

I stayed here for three nights April 2016 and cant praise this stunning B/B any higher that 10/10. The hosts have renovated this beautifull old building retaining its charm and heritage yet been able to mix it with modern rooms of the highest standard. I stayed in the single Attic room which has a new en suite shower room, a...

What a gem of a place. We had a lovely welcome, and our room was excellent - crisp white bed linen, great shower room etc. Everything was really clean, and well looked-after. Great choice for breakfast, and our hosts were so helpful. We only stayed one night, but hope to go back again soon.

We booked for one night, but stayed for two. The host are just that kind, welcoming, accommodating, and friendly. The guest rooms are a modern country living style - soft wood furniture, updated bathroom, white linens, towel warmer, - but the house is very true to it's roots as a hunting lodge. Each day there were fresh baked goods waiting...

There's really nothing that can't be praised about this place. The couple running it is the most loving and wonderful set of two humans in the world. We came for one night and stayed for two. Excellent whisk(e)y collection. Breakfast was fantastic.

From the location in the village, to the breakfast in the morning, to the view from the bedroom window everything was excellent. Well looked after from checking in to checking out. I'll be back as soon as I can.
