As a young couple staying here with family I had an absolutely fabulous time! The views, location and food are all remarkable and the hosts absolutely delightful- constantly going above and beyond the call of duty. To give but a few personal examples they cooked a fish that we had caught for us, on top of our meals, free of... More

This time only 2 adults in our party and it served as a great bolthole after a few traumatic days. Comfortable, unstuffy and very friendly, the food was excellent. In fact my husband thought the marbelled chocolate cheesecake was the best dessert he'd ever eaten. Thank you guys. We'll be back soon, I hope:-)

We did a tour of Scotland over two weeks and followed the seafood trail which led us to Dunvallanree. The setting of the hotel is stunning, right at the end of the road, overlooking the bay with its white sands and torquoise water.Picture perfect, the garden was in full bloom with many tropical looking flowers and plants, a very welcoming sight!.... Hidden away from the onrushing crowds, this wonderful 7 bedroom hotel is a gem to behold. I couldn't get mobile phone reception which was fantastic - on holiday so no-one could pester me about work !! Alyson and Alan are wonderful hosts - Alyson I think does not realise what a superb cook she really is (the one morning I... More

The road up to Dunvalanree is certainly long and winding, (with a few hairpin bends - go carefully), and it felt like we had reached the end of the world when we got there (5 hour journey). When we arrived it felt like we had discovered somewhere secret and exclusive - an hotel with its own bay and beach, reminiscent... More

Just back from a two day break to Dunvalanree and had a wonderful time. Comfortable room overlooking the sun-kissed bay ,exceptional locally sourced food, friendly and attentive hosts. Everything made this the small hotel you always want to find...but usually never do. This time we were lucky. Will certainly return. Well done Alan and Alyson.

We spend one week every year at Alyson and Alan's wonderful Dunvalanree. If you are looking for a totally relaxing, uncomplicated family-run hotel with spectacular views of Arran and the Carradale golf course and amazing food (thanks to Alyson) much of which is locally sourced, then Dunvalanree is perfect for you. We have just re-visited Dunvalanree after a number of years and were delighted to find that the very high standards have been maintained - very clean with excellent cuisine. Alyson and Alan are very welcoming and could not be more helpful. An excellent location for a stress free and relaxing holiday.

My family, a party of 5 adults, have just enjoyed a fantastic Easter break in Carradale staying at Dunvalanree. The accommodation was lovely: spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable with lashings of hot water and comfy beds with crisp white sheets and proper feather pillows and duvets – heaven. The views from our rooms were breathtaking as Dunvalanree is situated above... More

We spent 3 nights here as a family of 4 last week. We were the only guests, which was actually good for us as our children are young and quite noisy so it made it very relaxing for us. The food was uniformly excellent, the hosts chatty and the hotel warm, clean and cosy. I just wish it wasn't a... More
