After seven miles of one lane highway with passing zones and three miles of one lane sans passing zones, arrived at this old Scottish country house on the shores of beautiful Loch Awe. That was the high point of the visit. We were in the Boat House right on the water, and it was obvious it hadn't been occupied in... More

After a long 10km drive off the main A road - albeit a beautiful drive - to be greeted by the grey back of the house I was doubting my booking . Those doubts were dispelled inside . Warm , beautifully and characterful decoration ( the owner is an antique dealer ) with attentive and charming service . Stunning views... More

Stayed at the Boatshed at Ardanaiseig Hotel and it was such a waste of money. It is extremely expensive and the price tag was nowhere near justified. Positives - the setting is really beautiful next to the Loch. It is a really 'scottish' setting. You can go on walks in the surrounding woodland and grounds. Negatives - the main house... More

The long drive over stunning landscape raised our expectations, but these were quickly dashed on arrival at the imposing 19thC stone house, where we were greeted by a whiff of stale cooking, and a view of Iron Brew and papers strewn across the reception / office desk. Due to a last minute cancellation we were offered an alternative room in... More

Charming manor house filled with antiques and interesting art overlooking Loch Awe. Wonderful staff, good food, lovely rooms with spacious bathrooms, and picturesque grounds. It's a wonderful place to get away, relax and be away from it all. Since we were traveling around and touring, we found it too remote. It is 20-25 minutes off the main road on a... More

Ardanaiseig is without a doubt a comfortable, lovely hotel. The room was completely clean and well looked after by housekeeping. The bed was extremely comfortable and the acres of grounds were a wonderful exploration - hardly tended at all these days but at some point in the past obviously had been. The staff were lovely and service was good. However,... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. What a great location- on a lake in the middle of nowhere. The decor and rooms were fantastic - like a castle or manor house set in large grounds. Beds were super comfortable. The staff were very friendly. Dined in the restaurant - the breakfast had a good choice but the cooked breakfast was... More

It was a long drive to get here and I became so apprehensive on the way thinking whether I made a bad choice by picking this hotel. And then... We arrive to this most majestic location on a lake with 240 acres of land and a beautiful mansion. Dave greeted us at the door, toured the facility with us and... More

Without doubt, one of the nicest Hotels I have stayed in with a relaxed yet formal feel to it. Check-in was not the smoothest and bearing in mind they operate a 'late' check-in time of 3pm you would expect an Hotel of its obvious quality to be able to keep to this. One of our two rooms was ready 40... More
