My wife, my Labrador, brother, sister-in-law and myself were staying in a nearby self catering cottage and visited the Strontian Hotel on two evenings for a drink and a bar meal. The greeting was warm and very welcoming. The service was friendly and genuine. All of the staff were attentive and cheerful and even managed to provide treats for my...

I had a one night stay at the Strontian Hotel, Room 1 was clean and comfortable. Although the toilet/shower room was small the shower was incredible, nice and powerful & hot. The Wifi didnt really work in the bedroom however The hotel has a nice comfortable lounge and the wifi seemed fine down there as well as in the restaurant....

Thank you for your feedback and we apologise for any delay with the Wifi in the bedroom. We are in the process of putting boosters now upstairs to ensure a better connection. It was great that you were able to make use of the cosy residents lounge in which to work.

Called into the hotel on a busy sat night for a last min meal. Although it was busy they managed to accommodate us. Lovely meal. Staying at a nearby guest house i had no milk. When I asked if I could buy some milk they gave me some free of charge. Nothing was a bother. Very nice place with great...

Many thanks for taking the time to write a lovely review. It is really appreciated! We often find ourselves supplying milk and bread to self catering users as our local shops, whilst offering a great variety; do not stay open late into the evening. So once again thanks for acknowledging us in such a pleasant way.

Ate at the bothy bar 3 times during our weeks holiday at Strontian. The staff were very welcoming and the views are amazing. The food was first class. The only criticism would be the menu is a bit limited and the daily specials boars never changed all week. However would not hesitate to dine here again.

Stayed for a night on business. Lovely little hotel and bar/restaurant, with an amazing view from my room (however I think maybe not all rooms have a view). Fast wifi, hot shower, comfortable bed and spotlessly clean room. Highly recommended for business or pleasure.

Stopped in for an evening meal in the Bothy Bar restaurant having seen the location with views over the bay of Strontian River. Decent menu with several vegetarian options and at reasonable prices. We ate the fish and chips and fish pie - both very good. Friendly staff. Need to go back in daylight to appreciate the view - and...

The Strontian Hotel is based at the end of Loch Sunart and if you ask for a room with a view you will see the most beautiful scenery there is, anywhere in the world. This is an old hotel, family run, with a lot of Scottish character. It could perhaps do with a bit of modernisation but to be honest,...

Thank you for your lovely review. The main hotel was built in 1804 with the two side extensions being added in 1860 and it does have a lot of charm. We are somewhat limited with any major renovations due to the fact that it is a listed building and so it is very kind of you to appreciate it's character...

I've just returned from a three-day stay with my husband in the Strontium Hotel, a cosy country house. We were booked into the delightful and re-furbished Suite which had a fabulous view out over Loch Sunart. We were welcomed by Michelle, the owner, although we had arrived early, and personally shown round our suite and public rooms, and made to...

Nice location, friendly and warm, good food. Could possibly do with a lick of paint but suited our purpose fine. The area is great and the views stunning. Not a bad place to stay on the way to the Mallaig ferry.

Hi there Thank you for your review - we have had a lot of visitors looking for the Black Duck and most have been successful. Thank you also for your comment about the lick of paint. It is on the list once the weather warms up a bit. The outside of the Hotel particularly facing the Loch, you can imagine...
