My wife and I, although being local, had diner at the Royal, An Lochan, on Thursday 20th April and enjoyed an excellent three course meal and a very nice bottle of Merlot, being the house red. We could not find fault in any part of the meal and can only praise the first rate service we received. We would most...

We spent a couple of days here and thoroughly enjoyed our time. When we checked in Keith, the owner, showed us around the hotel - a nice touch - before showing us to our first floor room. We had paid a little extra for a sea view and it was worth every penny. Although not the most modern of hotels...

We have just returned from a couple of days at the Hotel. It a very special place, comfortable rooms and excellent food. We choose to upgrade to enjoy the sea view. The room had comfortable chairs and we liked the facility of a DVD in the room. The towels were luxurious and the bed linen of a high quality. Although...

We arrived and ‘honked the horn’ for service and the manager appeared from nowhere to greet us. I found it a lovely touch when he personally showed us around the hotel (breakfast room, dining room, chill out area beside a cosy fire and a conservatory with binoculars to check on the wildlife as you chill with a glass of wine...

We stayed for 2 nights in the Royal An Lochan and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Rooms are all individually named and designed, we paid extra for a sea view room and our room had a huge luxury bathroom which we weren't expecting. The hotel is comfortable, and classy, much superior to other 3 star hotels I have stayed in. The...

A lovely hotel in a stunning location. Rooms and breakfast were excellent, we particularly liked all of the little features in the room and this really relaxed us. Although we enjoyed our time in Tighnabruaich we never felt particularly at ease at any time in the hotel itself - it's a feeling where you can't put your finger on what's...

Stopped here on the way between the ferry over to Dunoon and the ferry from Portavadie to Tarbert. Had lovely moules marinieres, chicken wings (Very Hot!!) and sandwiches in the Shinty Bar at lunchtime on a Saturday. Foods was nice and good value, we received a warm welcome and there were great views over to Bute. Not many choices of...

Thank you for such a kind review, we are glad you enjoyed your overnight stay and hope to see you again for a longer break, to enjoy our local area of Cowal rather than a stopping off point. Once again thank you. Christine

Our first visit to the Royal an Lochan was a super mid-week break where we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was perfect with superb views across the Kyles of Bute. The hotel itself was beautifully furnished and retained a cosy comfortable feel where relaxing was easy. Kieth and Christine were very friendly and helpful. The food was...

Thank you for writting a short but very sweet review of our hotel. It was an absolute pleasure to have you stay with us and maybe we may see you back here for pleasure rather than business. Christine
