Stopped off for a meal in the main bar/restaurant. Lots of character, relaxed and comfortable surroundings and helpful staff. Also very dog friendly! Murphy (the dog) pickled a table nearest the log burner and sprawled out and went to sleep. We then enjoyed haddock and chips and gammon and chips. Both meals were excellent and served very promptly with a...

Loved the haggis bon bons and the local venison was a real treat. Service was swift and friendly and there was plenty of room for our four legged friends. Would have loved to sample the enormous gin menu ... but sadly had to drive. Must plan an overnight stay!

Delicious food using local ingredients - the best food I've eaten in the area. Extensive gin menu featuring local gins, and beer from the local brewery. Friendly staff, and the pop up bar is a nice relaxed area at weekends. Dogs welcome.

Having driven past this hotel many times over the years, only occasionally stopping for food or a drink, it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to stay here. It has always looked like a tidy, well-kept establishment and one that promised a comfortable stay. It did not disappoint - a very well appointed (upgraded) room, friendly service and good,...

Staying nearby on a self catering holiday and wanted to treat ourselves to last night family meal. Did quite a bit of research and thought this place was our best bet. Pub was cozy, inviting, nice decor and good atmosphere on a Saturday night. Menu sounded like they knew what they were doing but the food was mediocre at best...

My husband and I came here for a meal one evening after several recommendations from friends. We left mildly disappointed. The starter failed to live up to expectations (rubbery scallops), main course was great but dessert also a hit and miss affair (mine was great, hubby's was awful -we ended up sharing mine). As it turns out there was a...

We were staying nearby and read some good reviews of this traditional old hotel. Ate in the BlueCoo Bistrot and luckily there were some nice choices on the specials board as the restaurant didn't seem to be serving the full menu, but just the bar menu. Tried the unusual 'haggis on flat bread' followed by the Monkfish, scallops and clams...

Our friends were also delighted with their choices. It was quite busy . Staff were friendly and efficient . There...

Hotel is beautiful from the outside. Room was clean and had everything you would want in a room if ever so slightly dated. We booked a room with 2 dogs staying with us and while it's fantastic to find a hotel that will accomodate dogs, our room was in a main corridor and people were walking past all through the...

Set menu, bit steep for Mothers Day, had to have choose 2 course or 3 course, which was a rip off, how many older mums can eat that? There were 4 of us, 2 only had 2 course which was £22.50, big deal we got coffee instead, so was an expensive meal, which was the worst meal ever had, a...
