Going by other Trip Advisors we stayed here overnight on 28th Sept and were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by Maggie on our evening arrival and shown to room 6 which was downstairs. The room was a twin which was very clean and cosy with spotless bed linen. There was a tea tray, TV, 2 comfy chairs, small table,...

Extremely warm welcome, friendly and helpful hosts. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the position of the hotel was ideal - close to the village with outstanding views of the harbour. It was an ideal base for walking and cycling in the area.

Great hosts, very welcoming, and made us feel at home. The place was absolutely spotless and the breakfast was fantastic. If you visit then you need to try the hot tub - stunning view! Would definitely recommend a stay here and we will certainly be back.

After too long a gap (8 years), we returned to Portpatrick last weekend. Rickwood House was very good then but thanks to some detailed upgrading, it would now be difficult to find anywhere better. Maggie and Fred are wonderful discrete hosts. Rest assured, it will be more like 8 months before we return again.

We were visiting Port Patrick for the first time and found the whole experience lovely. The Rickwood was very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Very satisfying breakfast that kept you going well into the afternoon. Maggie welcomed us and gave us lots of information about things that were going on and about the surrounding area. Fred waited on our every need...

Thanks for your lovely review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and your first visit to the beautiful far west of Dumfries & Galloway. We hope to welcome you again sometime. We were curious as to why your overall score awarded was 4 when all the individual scores were 5 - which is much appreciated. We...

I think the title of this review just about sums it up. We just keep coming back! Fred and Maggie are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The guesthouse is always spotlessly clean and well cared for. The breakfasts are truly delicious and there is something to suit every taste. It's in a very quiet part of Portpatrick...

Had a lovely stay in the 'The Factors Suite' - a nice large room with a seating area & large ensuite bath with shower. Great location just a few minutes walk down to the village, lovely views from the room & lots of nice walks near by. Friendly welcome, chat & local info from the owners. Loved the hot tub...

Just back from a two day stay in this very welcoming Hotel with personal service by the owners. Lovely couple who couldn't be more helpful. Plenty of eating places in Portpatrick. The Waterfront Hotel was much better than Campbell's, lobster at a good price and beautifully fresh and served with great fresh veg. Welcomed for coffee in Golf Club and...

The Rickwood House sits on a hill overlooking Portpatrick. The area is very quiet although it is only a short walk down to the harbour area and eating places. The walk is however quite steep with a number of steps. Rickwood presents well on first sight, with tidy grounds and a smart looking building. There is parking beside the house....

Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you both again some time. For the benefit of future guests, Room 5 is our smallest room and is referred to on our website as "compact double". This is reflected in the price charged. In common with several...
