Feathers Royal Hotel in Aberaeron has a very strong tradition of hospitality built up over many years. It was originally an 18th century coaching inn offering food and shelter to travelers and locals alike. The décor, furniture and fittings of our 13 bedrooms have all been selected to create an atmosphere of period refinement, yet with all mod cons. The bathroom fittings are state-of-the-art, with power showers and complementary toiletries. Breakfast included. Free private parking. The restaurant, Osteria 1815, specialises in Italian cuisine. We are passionate about food and our menu with Italian dishes from authentic Italian regional cuisine reflects our passion & enthusiasm for fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our menu including any changes and chef specials is available on social media.

A lovely hotel which was a coach house built in 1815. Tastefully decorated and modernised by the present owners Stefano and Brid.
Spotlessly clean all through the hotel with good room service . All the staff are friendly and very helpful and accommodating.
The rooms are comfortable and I had one of my best nights sleep for sometime here. It’s very quiet here although there is a road outside the front of the hotel.
The thick walls of this lovely historical building is a blessing as during this hot spell it is keeping us cool as well.
Access from the rear car park onto the first floor is really good and easy to unload your cases from your car .
The hotel restaurant serves Italian food and we have had two really enjoyable delicious meals . Prices are reasonable and service was excellent.
The cooked Welsh breakfast was included in our room charge and was substantial and set us up for the day .
We will be back !. 👍🏴

We had arranged a get together for a few friends and family in The Feathers after the death of my Mother. The staff were exceptional, accommodating and welcoming from the start.
A few of us had travelled a fair distance, and arrived early, The Feathers opened the doors for us, let us into our rooms early, welcomed us in, and nothing was too much trouble for them
They made a fairly solemn occasion into a lovely memory, I would recommend them to anyone.
The food was immaculate all day, from the high-tea for the afternoon guests, to the traditional Italian food for the party of 8 in the evening. Exceptional service ,and beautifully presented.
The rooms were spotless, comfortable and very well priced, breakfast was great, and set us all on our way home feeling happy and refreshed.
Thanks to all the team there for a wonderful weekend.

Aberaeron is a smart town with brightly coloured houses, with a small harbour and a selection of pubs cafes and restaurants. This hotel felt a bit shabby with worn carpets and tired paintwork. The rear carpark makes access to the rooms much easier since its on the same level as the bedrooms and they provide the access key codes at reception. the bedroom was a bit shabby but OK, a luggage rack would have been useful. There was a large bathroom with only a bath and it looked to be recently modernized. The restaurant lacked charm and the food was a bit over cooked and I would have expected rosettes for quality if it was highly rated. The staff were friendly, but we found it a bit expensive overall.

The refurbishment programme by Brid & Stefano is underway since they acquired this dilapidated hotel a short time ago. They have already brought it back to life and it has on site free parking not readily available in Aberaeron hotels We would echo the fulsome reviews posted by other residents coinciding with our recent one week stay in September. An ideal place to stay for a visit to Aberaeron for enjoying the town and the other attractions of Ceredigion. One slight caution is that the hotel plays quite loud music every evening which can be heard clearly in the bedrooms.

Visited here on Wednesday evening. Located a short stroll from the centre of Aberaeron we were drawn to the authentic Italian cuisine advertised outside. We had a table in the bar area so that our dog could be with us. The staff and owners all took time to welcome us and ensure a pleasant experience. The menu was uncluttered and while enjoying an aperitif we settled on Bruschetta to start and then a delicious pork loin dish. It was all fresh and flavourful. I wish we had found it earlier in our stay .

+ comfortable clean beds. Friendly staff. Good position being walkable to the seafront.
- Unfortunately it is undergoing a big refurbishment under new management and at present it is way overpriced.
Nowhere to sit in front of a mirror in room for doing hair and makeup.
Complimentary tea/coffee tray not consistently replenished ( no milk on 2nd day)
Poor breakfast, seem unable to cook a decent fried or scrambled egg. Lack of any menu and waitress untrained so not able to advise what is available.
Sanitizer bottles along corridor were all empty.
No restaurant open and no information regarding this.

Had a couple of nights here. Affable hostess/owner Breda and her Italian husband have almost finished their refurbishment of this charming old building. Whilst there are some jobs still be completed it did not deter the enjoyment of our stay. Our room was spacious , comfortable and completed to a high standard. Breakfast was good quality and staff were most attentive. Location excellent in this popular seaside town.
Would definitely rebook again.

Arrived jubilee bank holiday friday in june. The owner had no record of our booking so we were placed in double room as no other twin rooms were left.
Breafast first day was chaotic. 1 lady serving, no sign of owner. Ran out milk, juice, constantly having to ask for items. Also ran out of sausages and condiments sachets were out of date and tasted off! We did not complain at this stagem
2nd morning, still No sausges, owner messed op breakfast order for us and several other guests. Waited 1.5 hours for our breafast and owner still messed up order. Fruit was also mouldy in fruit basket, and cheap bread for 5 star.
When we complained to the owner he made out we were out to find fault in front of the other guests. Other guests left due to delay in getting breakfast.
We requested a refund for our breakfast debacle, which the owner said he would do.
We have not received this refund.
. Highly overpriced hotel for what you get! How it gets 5 star is debatable!

Hosts Stefano and Brid have taken on the challenge of breathing new life into part of Aberaeron's history. The hotel was closed for a number of years and under threat of retail development until the couple purchased the site earlier this year. With the biggest function room in this part of Ceredigion and plenty of history in the 18th century building, the hotel has plenty of charm and status. With their energy and enthusiasm - and with support from residents of Ceredigion and district - Stefano and Brid deserve to succeed in re-establishing The Feathers Royal as a destination hotel in Ceredigion.
Very helpful staff. There's plenty of 'old world' charm in this landmark hotel a short walk from Aberaeron harbour.

We had a very warm welcome from Brid and Stefano. We were disappointed to be told on arrival that the Chef had been “pinged” so the restaurant had to close. A great shame as the menu looked to be excellent and was one of the reasons we booked. We had difficulty in finding restaurant bookings for the two nights as most were booked up. Not a good start to a two night stay .
The bedroom was large and comfortable with a great en-suite bathroom..a quirky floor was in keeping with the age of the building..due for replacement in the near future.
The breakfasts ,a full English was full of high quality ingredients well prepared by Janet and her team ; the yogurts were delicious!
We were impressed with the refurbishments done on the downstairs area and also their enthusiasm to continue upstairs.
The two nights though turned out to be an enjoyable stay with great hosts..who moved from Tuscany to West Wales . We hope to return next year to sample the excellent menu and catch up with the next stage of refurbishments from Stefano and Brid.
